Enabling Notification History
The notification history feature on Android devices is not activated by default. To enable it, users need to navigate to Settings, tap Notifications, select Notification history, and toggle it on. The steps may vary slightly depending on the device; for example, Samsung users can find it under Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings. If the option is not visible, using the Settings search function with the term "Notification history" can help locate it.
Managing Notifications Effectively
Once enabled, notification history maintains a chronological list of alerts, including those swiped away. It records the notification details such as the time received and the app that sent it, though it does not restore action buttons. This feature, when paired with Android's notification management tools, allows users to categorize notifications, reducing clutter and ensuring important alerts like banking notifications, OTP codes, and delivery updates are easily accessible.
