The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Unofficial PC Port Released
A new unofficial port of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been developed, allowing players to enjoy this popular title on PC. Created by a developer known as NotRexed, this port, named SkyboundTOTK, aims to enhance the gaming experience through various technical improvements and customization options.
Enhanced Visuals and Performance
One of the key features of the SkyboundTOTK port is its support for FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 1 upscaling. This technology sharpens images when the game is displayed at larger resolutions, making the visuals more appealing. Additionally, players can adjust image sharpening settings to tailor the visual quality to their preferences.
The port also introduces an experimental frame interpolation option that attempts to create additional frames between the original frames. This feature enhances motion smoothness, although it may produce odd visuals during fast movements or when navigating on-screen menus. Furthermore, it can introduce a slight delay in response time.
Control Options and Gameplay Features
SkyboundTOTK includes support for keyboard and mouse controls, as well as compatibility with various gamepads. Players can easily navigate the game through controls that allow movement, camera aiming, jumping, and other actions. The port also offers customizable mouse capture and sensitivity settings, catering to different player preferences.
Display Settings and Customization
The port provides several display options, allowing players to choose between full-screen and windowed modes. Users can decide whether to maintain the original aspect ratio or stretch the image to fit their screens. Additionally, display settings can be saved for future sessions, and a local graphics cache helps to reduce stuttering during gameplay.
Installation Requirements
To access this unofficial port, players must build the SkyboundTOTK on a Windows 10 or 11 PC, requiring specific tools and at least 45 GB of free space for the additional files. The build process can take a long time and needs at least 45 GB of free space for extra files, on top of the game files.
