The addition of the restore feature at first sign-in offers users a 'second chance' to restore their settings and Microsoft Store apps, including Start menu pins, recognized during the out-of-box experience (OOBE). This update is designed for use with hybrid joined devices, multi-user environments, and Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
Currently in private preview, the feature will be broadly available in early 2026. Interested organizations can participate in the preview until 2026-02-13 by joining the Microsoft Management Customer Connection Program and signing a non-disclosure agreement.
