Intrepid Studios is set to launch Ashes of Creation (AoC) on Steam Early Access on 2025-12-11. The game will be priced at $49.99, with a 15% discount available until 2025-12-25, lowering the price to $42.49.
Alpha Status and Early Access Details
The game is currently in Alpha Two, Phase Three, which began in August 2025. According to creative director Steven Sharif, the testing builds are still under development, with plans for two beta phases prior to the final release. The Alpha Two Third Wave Bundle, currently retailing at $100 from Intrepid, includes access to both betas, a month of game time, and $15 of in-game currency, Embers. However, when available on Steam, this bundle will be priced at $50 and feature a non-exclusive cosmetic cloak.
Cross-Platform Compatibility
Intrepid Studios assures full cross-platform compatibility between existing playtesters and those accessing AoC via Steam. Existing testers will not receive Steam keys but will earn two unique titles, modifying cloak dye colors: 'Cultist of the Eternal Fire' and 'Knight of the White Flame.'
Community Testing and Development
The Early Access release is intended for extensive community testing. It will focus on improving critical gameplay elements: settlement progression, economy loops, combat mechanics, and world events. Intrepid aims to identify and refine these issues in real-time with player input.
