Microsoft has been diligently rolling out a series of updates for Windows 10 and 11, operating largely under the radar in recent weeks. The latest Dynamic Update for Windows 11 24H2, released yesterday, specifically caters to the new Copilot+ PCs.
The tech giant seems to be focused on delivering a range of non-essential updates to its user base, distinct from the security-oriented Patch Tuesday releases. These updates are designed to enhance user experience rather than address immediate security concerns.
Dynamic Update for Windows 11 24H2
Among the recent offerings is the Dynamic Update for Windows 11 24H2, which brings improvements to Windows setup binaries and other files utilized during feature updates. This update encompasses packages that rectify issues with Setup.exe binaries and provide SafeOS updates for the Windows Recovery Environment. Notably, these dynamic updates are not automatically distributed via Windows Update; users must manually download them from the Windows Update Catalog site. The update is compatible with both x86 and Arm64/AMD64 Copilot+ PCs.
Series of Smaller Updates
In late July, Microsoft introduced a non-security C-release Windows preview update for both Windows 10 and Windows 11. This preview highlighted forthcoming functionalities for the operating systems.
Shortly thereafter, another update targeted Windows 11 24H2 and Copilot+ PCs, followed by yet another update that was rolled out for both Windows 10 and Windows 11, which included mandatory installations of new Windows feature updates.
