Back in April, 11 Bit Studios gave players who preordered the deluxe edition of Frostpunk 2 a taste of the survival city builder with a week-long beta. The reaction from players was generally positive, but not overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
Due to feedback from the beta, 11 Bit Studios has decided to push back the release date of Frostpunk 2 from July 25 to September 20. The studio acknowledged the praise received during the beta, as well as the suggestions for improvements.
Beta Feedback Drives Changes
In a post on Steam, the studio explained that the release date delay is necessary to implement changes based on player feedback. These changes include adjustments to the workforce management system, UI overhaul, addition of crisis management abilities, district reshaping, and more.
One new feature called “Zoom Stories” will allow players to zoom in on citizens to observe their daily lives. This feature aims to create a closer connection between players and the city they are building.
Despite the disappointment of the delay, 11 Bit Studios emphasized their commitment to delivering the best possible game for players. They promised to provide behind-the-scenes updates leading up to the release to keep players informed about the progress.
