If you’ve been eagerly anticipating the final version of the Windows 11 24H2 update, your wait is nearly over. Microsoft, while not making a grand announcement, has inadvertently disclosed the release timeline through a recent blog post, hinting that the much-anticipated update is just around the corner.
Release Schedule Unveiled
While the name of the Windows 11 24H2 update indicated a release in the latter half of the year, the specifics remained elusive. Now, it appears that for those eager to dive into the new features, the update will be available in just a few days. For those who prefer a more patient approach, the wider automated rollout is set to commence in approximately three weeks.
In a blog post discussing enhanced data protection with Windows and Microsoft Copilot, Reanne Wong from Microsoft provided further insights:
The shift to the Microsoft 365 app as the entry point for Microsoft Copilot will align with the annual Windows 11 feature update release. Changes will be rolled out to managed PCs starting with the optional non-security preview release on September 24, 2024, and following with the monthly security update release on October 8 for all supported versions of Windows 11. These changes will be applied to Windows 10 PCs the month after. This update is replacing the current Copilot in Windows experience.
