Gboard Adds Option to Customize Keyboard Layout

Gboard's version 16.0 introduces a feature enabling users worldwide to hide the period and comma keys from the main keyboard layout, offering more control over their typing experience.

This adjustment can widen the spacebar and simplify the keyboard's bottom row by showing only the spacebar, Enter, and ?123 keys. Users can double-tap the spacebar to insert a period; however, no shortcut exists for the comma, which may affect some users.
