Our ongoing dialogue with parents has been instrumental in shaping our product development. A common concern voiced by many is the desire to minimize distractions for children during school hours while still maintaining a line of communication for emergencies. In response to this feedback, we proudly introduced the School time feature on Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatches earlier this year.
Looking ahead, we are excited to expand the School time functionality to a broader range of devices, including select Android phones, tablets, and Samsung Galaxy Watches. This initiative aims to foster a more focused and productive learning environment for students.
The School time feature allows parents to customize their child’s device experience during school hours. By setting a dedicated home screen with limited functionality, distractions during class can be significantly reduced. Through our Family Link parental controls app, parents can easily schedule School time and select which applications are permissible during these hours. Furthermore, they have the flexibility to permit calls or texts from designated contacts, ensuring that communication remains accessible when necessary.
