Avengers Vs X-Men is a fighting game based on MUGEN that allows you to fight as a part of one of these mythical groups of superheroes in intense battles, just like in the last Marvel comics crossover. Beast, Black Widow, Deadpool, Colossus, Iron Man, Captain America, Emma Frost, Magneto, Cyclops, and Hulk are just some of the more than twenty characters that you can control in this game. All of them have been carefully recreated with an impressive list of moves that in some cases includes more than ten types of special attacks. As opposed to other, lower-quality MUGEN titles, Avengers Vs X-Men comes with a short tutorial at the beginning of arcade mode that will help you learn, in less than five minutes, all of the basic concepts that you'll need to get the most out of the game. If that weren't enough, the game's arcade mode comes with a storyline that helps you to discover just why it is that all of your favorite heroes are fighting each other, presented in comic form. In addition to arcade mode, you'll find various other playing modes included in the game, like survival mode or classic, where you can play alone or cooperatively. Avengers Vs X-Men is by far one of the best free MUGEN fighting games that we've come across. Although it doesn't have as large a cast of characters as some other titles, they have been chosen and designed much more thoughtfully, and it shows. This game is an absolute delight for Marvel fans.
