Avernum: Escape From the Pit is a classic RPG, in which the player controls a group of adventurers who have been banished to the underworld and will never see the light of day again. Once down there, you have several options: to join the underworld nation looking for you, to make a bid for freedom... or take revenge on those who exiled you and left for dead. The gameplay is similar to the classic turn-based RPG. You lead a group of adventurers, manage their attributes and skills, equip them with all kind of weaponry, armour and magic items, and do battle with hundreds of different monsters. Of course it will also be very important to talk and make decisions, which will determine the course of your adventure. Also at your disposal will be dozens of side quests that, while not necessary to finish the game, do provide a number of advantages. Graphically Avernum : Escape from the Pit looks like a game from the late nineties, but considering that the gameplay also points in that direction, it all fits together perfectly. The character design is also very carefully done. Avernum: Escape From the Pit is an excellent RPG with hours of fun for any fan of the genre. Perhaps it may be a little difficult or overly complicated for the newbie, but a few quick deaths will soon fix that.
