Free Notes is a complete system of post-it notes and alarms that lets you create notes with the click of a mouse, and set all manner of reminders and alarms. The notes stay embedded on your desktop and you can configure them to change the size, colour, and importance (VIP notes). The program uses very few resources so you can have it running constantly without causing any problems. It supports unlimited notes, has an autosave feature and a quick edit function.
