Goldrake Spacer is a spaceship arcade game in which you control the legendary Grendizer (also known as Goldrake or Goldorak), a giant robot along the lines of Mazinger Z who needs to defend humanity from the attack of evil creatures from outer space. The game has a traditional control system that allows you to move Grendizer (in its spaceship form) freely about the screen, while enemies appear on one side of the screen and slowly advance across. At the end of each level, you'll find yourself face-to-face with the final boss, which will do its best to make your life difficult. All of these end-of-level enemies are recognizable from the animated series, and you'll need to destroy them little by little. Not only will you have to be shooting constantly during each level, but you'll need to be on the lookout for various power-ups that are sure to come in handy. For example, you can find one that will allow other characters from the series to accompany you on your adventure. Goldrake Spacer is the ideal spaceship arcade game for fans of this classic anime. Its graphics aren't all that great, nor is the overall production too impressive, but that doesn't stop it from being a highly entertaining game.
