HTTP File Server is a surprising application which allows you to turn your computer into a file server similar to the P2P networks. The difference resides in the use of the HTTP protocol as a file transmission medium. This tool generates a website with the content of the page you have specified as shared. This folder will have links to all the folders you have included in that directory. The user who wants to download a file won´t have to install the program, he only has to know the IP address of the server where the folder is hosted. The application doesn´t have an installer, it´s enough to run it. It has a multitude of configuration options: it allows you to limit the bandwidth and the entering connections, banner IP´s, create user accounts and much more.
