You may have not heard about environment variables, an environment variable is a parameter of the OS which determines the way the system will work. One example could be the PATH, which indicates the file system paths where you can launch a process from just typing its name. Rapid Environment Editor is a free application for Windows specialized in addition, edition and deletion of those variables as well as listing the different system variables in the environment.
