Textroom

Textroom provides a completely distraction-free writing interface. With Textroom, you can work on any text without seeing anything more than your own words. When you open a Textroom window, all you see is a small word count in the left corner, a clock in the right, and nothing else. The rest of the screen is black, and you can fill it up with white characters. The idea is that you don't get distracted by anything else, like browsing the Internet 'for a few minutes,' playing a quick game of Solitaire, or looking at pictures. With Textroom open, the only thing you can do is write, and that's the point.
