You'll have various options covering everything from a knight of a noble order to a low-class grifter. Naturally, this choice will significantly affect how your game plays out. Another feature that defines your character are their abilities. There are 23 different abilities, like disguise, persuasion, wisdom, and object creation. The combat system is turn-based and one of the most important elements of the game. You have action points and you'll need to use them to the best of your ability if you want to defeat your enemies. Luckily, you can count on the use of different weapons, including swords, daggers, axes, lances, bows, and many more. Of course, depending on which character you select at the beginning, it's possible that you won't do much fighting at all. Believe it or not, in The Age of Decadence, you can solve almost all of the situations that are presented to you in non-violent ways. Diplomacy may end up being your most powerful weapon. In fact, you'll want to solve the majority of your in-game missions using different abilities. Combat may be a quick solution, but sometimes using stealth or subterfuge will be more effective in accomplishing your objectives. The Age of Decadence is a long, complex game: it includes more than 100 different missions that will take you along dozens of different locations. There are cities, ruins, castles, temples, dungeons, and many more areas to explore. The ability to create objects that we mentioned earlier is especially important in the world of The Age of Decadence, since those objects include potions, rolls of parchment, tools, and weapons. As you might imagine, all of these will come in handy along your adventure. The Age of Decadence is a colossal role-playing game. Although it doesn't have the most advanced graphics, it conserves the essence of the great role-playing games from years ago. It's an essential title for any fan of the genre.
