TubeStop

YouTube just launched its new system of ads on its videos, and it hasn't taken us long to figure out how to get around them. Thanks to this extension, you can avoid the ads without YouTube noticing, at least for now. TubeStop is an extension for the Mozilla Firefox web browser, with the main objective of pausing YouTube videos to avoid autoplaying, currently the YouTube default setting. Although its first function was this, the author assures us that it's also capable of avoiding the advertisements that come up on videos. This is true up to a point, since embedded videos from YouTube don't have any ads at the moment. With TubeStop we have a fast, convenient way to skip the publicity that invades more and more aspects of the web, especially YouTube videos.
