When you browse the Internet, you may have noticed your antivirus warns you of possible threats on multiple pages without you knowing how or why. Most of these cases are caused by a JavaScript code with a malicious character that could be present on any of the pages you're visiting at the time. But preventing this from happening is simple: just disable Javascript in the browser. That said, many pages you visit regularly use JavaScript to function properly, so disabling it altogether is pretty extreme. A better solution is YesScript, an extension for the Mozilla browser FireFox that disables JavaScript on the pages you opt to blacklist. The way it works is easy: when you visit a suspicious site, click the YesScript icon in the lower righthand corner of the browser. The extension will automatically add that site to the blacklist, and it will never again run JavaScript on that page. You can manage the blacklist manually from the YesScript options on the Firefox toolbar, so don't worry if you need to take off one of the pages you'd previously added.
