Those who are used to using the Unix system or those who, for whatever reason, need to perform an operation with this operating system, had to detach themselves from Windows and install Unix on their PC. With Cygwin you will have a collection of tools that will provide you with operations on Windows similar to those of Unix. The creators’ idea was to create a compilation environment of Unix apps on Windows. What everyone received was a Unix function tool that can run applications designed for the Unix operating system directly from Windows. This can be very useful, especially for those who study this operating system and need to perform handling operations from the Unix shell or simply try to run an app available on Unix that they don’t have on Windows. All of this makes Cygwin a great tool that deserves a try.

That done, you'll see a list of all the pending updates, organized by level of urgency, be they basic updates, critical patches, security fixes, or add-on elements. This way, you can install the updates you want in a more transparent way, which is especially useful when you've just installed the tool, as during the update process in the background you won't necessarily know what it's doing.
