If you want to deactivate one of these entries for another good reason (security, error when uninstalling a program, etc.), visualControls lets you do it. It's a small tool that lists the elements that have been added to the control panel by different applications. All you have to do is uncheck an entry's checkbox to hide its icon from the control panel. That's it.
