Lix

Lix is a strategy and puzzle game that features a gameplay that is identical to that of Lemmings, the classic game from the early nineties. You have to guide a group of little people from one point to the next, making them perform different tasks. You can assign them different tasks depending on the level you’re in at the time: they can dig a tunnel through the setting, jump, build bridges, use baseball bats to attack enemy Lix, etc. Lix can be played in single player mode with the goal of getting all your people to their destination, but it can also be played in multiplayer mode through the Internet or using a LAN network. If you play this mode, besides safeguarding your own Lix, you'll also have to exterminate those of your opponent. Lix is a very fun combination of strategy and puzzle, and it keeps all the magic from the original Lemmings while adding a competitive multiplayer element that works perfectly within the game.

The Old Man and the NSA

N/A

3 (972)

The Old Man and the NSA is a simple 2D arcade game with a very silly premise. In it, you control an old fisherman who finds a box of government secrets while fishing. After this discovery, a stranger tries to help him upload the data to the Internet, while the NSA (National Security Agency) tries to stop him. The game is divided into two parts: in the first, you have to order a computer using your radio and set it up; in the second, you have to defend your computer while it uploads the data you found. In the second part of the game, which is much longer and more fun than the first, you have to use the harpoon launcher to destroy anyone who tries to block your Internet connection and, above all else, the NSA agents trying to destroy your computer. If the agents manage to break your computer, you'll have to start again from the first part of the game. The Old Man and the NSA is a crazy and fun arcade game. Although fairly short (it only takes about five minutes to finish), it's still good mindless entertainment.

I See You is a first-person horror adventure that, unlike the vast majority of games in this genre, doesn't try to scare you through the main character, but instead goes directly for the player sitting in front of the computer, mouse in hand. The backstory is straightforward: you'll be trapped inside a strange abandoned hospital, and have to find the right keys in order to escape. On the way, though, you'll encounter something that won't want you to get away. During the game you'll come across messages aimed at you, the player, that will try to scare and confuse you. Some of them will attack your perceptions directly, to make you more vulnerable. The best part of I See You, in any case, comes when you finally finish, something that shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes. I See You is a first-person horror adventure that will give you more than one good scare. Not recommended for the faint of heart.

Jade Phoenix

3 (928)

Jade Phoenix is a platform adventure game where you will play as either Patjade or Wendy, two mayors of a small town that has been hypnotized by someone, or something. Taking advantage of the situation, tons of creatures have invaded the town. Your objective is to progress through different phases of the game while killing your enemies and recovering as many gems as possible. As you advance, you'll get closer to figuring out what's at the bottom of all this trouble. The game's controls are very traditional: there is a jump button and an attack button. The jump button will help you get from platform to platform, but you can also use it to slide along the ground to hit enemies. Using the attack button will launch arrows from the bow that your character carries. The game has retro graphics that will remind you of Super Nintendo and Megadrive games. The overall aesthetic is a little childish, but it meshes well with the storyline. Jade Phoenix is an entertaining, free platform game. It may be a little short, but it offers a good helping of fun.

It doesn’t take long for him to notice that the back fence is broken, so he can go out onto the sewage tunnels... which ends up being a very bad idea. Shortly after starting to wander the dark tunnels you'll start to find notes glued to the wall that give you clues on where to go and what to expect. The problem is you are not alone down there. A mysterious creature is with you, and if you get too close, it'll instantly kill you. Your objective is thus to try to escape the sewers in any way possible. To do so you'll not only have to explore in search of a way out, but you'll also have to try not to make any noise and hide from the creature. Vanish is a first person adventure horror game that is very similar to other slender style games, only instead of having this mythical creature stalking you, it has a monster that's relatively similar to the ones on the great videogame, Amnesia.

Micro Machines V4

Micro Machines V4 is the latest installment of this classic game based on Hasbro's miniature cars. Developed by Codemasters and released in 2006, Micro Machines V4 is one of the best games to play in multiplayer with your friends, as well as against the AI. Micro Machines V4 lets you play with your keyboard or controller, which makes it easy to play with other players using the same computer. You can also create LAN games, so you can play with other networked computers or with friends, no matter where they are. In total, Micro Machines V4 offers 750 different cars and more than 50 tracks. Each track has a different type of car that's available and, in some cases, you can get cars with different colors or even a different finish. A saved profile with all the cars and tracks already unlocked is included in the package that you download from the Internet. Each track has between one and four variants, so playing on the same map never gets old. The gameplay on the maps is very similar. Each game is divided into rounds. To win a round, you need to gain a certain distance over your rivals. For completing each round, you'll get one point. If you manage to fill the entire bar, then you win. If there are three or four players in the game, the player who is farthest from the first player is eliminated if this minimum distance is reached. To keep rival cars at bay, you can use tons of weapons that are available on each level and placed on top of your car. For example, you can shoot a ball of plasma, hit with a hammer, throw explosive dice, fire a machine gun, electrocute other cars, and much more. To play Micro Machines V4 on recent versions of Windows, it's necessary to enable Windows Vista compatibility mode in the executable's compatibility settings. In short, if you want to enjoy these miniature racing cars for hours and have a blast with your friends, downloading Micro Machines V4 is a great option.

Bathroom Horror Game

Bathroom Horror Game

4 (647)

Bathroom is a Japanese horror game where you start out in the murky depths of a random bathroom, without a single clue as to why you're there or exactly where you came from. The only thing you'll know for sure is that in order to open the exit door you have to type in a four-digit code. Oddly enough, you'll soon realize that even deep inside this dreary, dark bathroom there are still piles of objects to play with like portraits (all of them of Audrey Hepburn -- don't ask us why), a mirror, and a tiny box closed with lock and key. Actually physically leaving the bathroom is not really the end of Bathroom, but it is the central part of the game. Once you manage to find the right combination and get the door open, you'll go down the hall and the main room of a mysterious house. And let's just say, it's probably best if each player finds out everything that can happen on their own. Bathroom is a really terrifying horror game, which like all of its kind, is best enjoyed in the dark and with headphones (or with your volume turned all the way up). In short, we're looking at one of those games that, although short, gives you more of a fright. Especially thanks to its excellent soundtrack, which will keep you alert and in constant tension.

BizHawk

BizHawk is a complete multi-system emulator for Windows that allows you to run games from a large number of classic consoles. Although it has a very simple interface, it incorporates several tools designed for speedruns and emulation testing. In fact, it integrates its own in-game video and audio recording option. Currently, BizHawk supports the following platforms: NES/Famicom, Nintendo 64, Virtual Boy, Game Boy Advance, Color and Classic, Sony PlayStation, SEGA Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000, Sega-CD, Sega Saturn, PC Engine, Atari 2600 and 7800, Atari Lynx, ColecoVision, the TI-83 calculator, Neo Geo Pocket, WonderSwan, Apple II, Mattel Intellivision, Commodore 64, Vectrex and ZX Spectrum. In all these cases, the emulator uses APIs of external emulators to run them, for example, PicoDrive for SEGA and Snes9x for Super Nintendo. Among the many tools included in BizHawk, you'll find the possibility to use several save slots, slow down the emulation and even pause it to advance it frame by frame, a debugging system to analyze the emulation to the millimeter and, in short, all kinds of high-profile functions designed for users who want to get the most from the video game emulation to beat high scores or time records. To sum it up, BizHawk is a fantastic emulator that covers an endless number of platforms, making it possibly one of the best all-in-one emulators for emulating classic machines (perhaps only with the permission of RetroArch). Of course, such a degree of breadth means that certain machines are not emulated with the most accurate software, but that's the price to pay for such a complete system.

The controls in Head Ball 2 - Online Soccer (Gameloop) are super simple. You have two buttons to control the direction of movement of your character, two buttons to hit the ball high or low, a jump button and another button to use special abilities. Of course, all buttons are mapped as standard, so you can play directly using the keyboard. At the beginning, the norm is to face other players in friendly online matches. At the beginning of the game you only have three character skins, but little by little you will be able to obtain many more. Each of the more than one hundred different characters that you can play with also has its own unique skills and statistics. With coins, you will be able to improve all these skills. Soulframe

Digital Extremes

4 (1058)

From the creators of Warframe, Digital Extremes, comes Soulframe, a game that seeks to combine Warframe combat with a setting inspired by movies like 'Princess Mononoke' and books like 'The Neverending Story.' Soulframe moves away from the concept of ninjas in space for more melee-centric and slower combat. It's also more focused on exploring an ever-changing planet that doesn't want you on it. In this way, Soulframe offers a procedural game where the terrain changes every night, creating new terrain and caves to explore. The Soulframe universe is, in the words of the game's director, more like a mirror of the Warframe universe than an expansion of it, so new players are more than welcome. It's not a sequel, so you don't need to know anything about Warframe to enjoy this game. Although Soulframe has some of the same elements, like a focus on cooperation between players, this game is based on confronting the environment around you. Soulframe prioritizes immersion above all, which is why it's important to be attentive to the changes that occur around you as you play. Soulframe is, at its core, a game about nature and its restoration, which is an interesting premise that's definitely worth looking into.
