Intrusion 2

Intrusion 2 is the perfect combination of action and 2D platform game. By taking all the best elements from the classic 16-bit era games for a retro feel, and adding some modern touches of brutality, this game provides a unique experience that has the power to leave its audience reeling. The gameplay is somewhat reminiscent of classic games such as Ghosts'n'Goblins, Metal Slug and Strider, with 2D landscapes to race through while using various weapons to see off all the enemies that get in your way. The difference of course is that in Intrusion 2, physics takes on an even greater importance. For example, you can grab boxes and throw them to kill your enemies, or use a hook to drag them closer before administering the killer blow. In some of the levels, you get to use various vehicles and robots that give you the chance to move around the screen in a machine of mass destruction killing hundreds of enemies, and thus having even more fun. Along with the normal enemies, of course, you can also find some bosses that take up most of the screen and prove to be far more difficult to dispose of. Intrusion 2 is a hilarious arcade title that emulates the games from fifteen years ago whilst adding a modern twist to further increase the fun. Reeling in enemies with a hook in order to spear them with your sword while riding around in a giant robot, what more could you want?

Don’t expect amazing graphics, or great playability. Toribash won’t be providing you with that kind of fun. This is a new concept in martial arts combat games in which you control the joints in a virtual character to make him carry out impossible moves. As you combine relaxing and contracting different muscles and joints, the character's limbs respond accordingly by moving whichever way you want them to move. By combining several moves, you’ll be able to carry out spectacular locks and chokeholds that could end up dismembering your opponent. You can continue making moves as long as you have animation frames left over. Don’t be shocked if you see your opponent’s head or arms go flying through the air after you carry out a lethal combo. Not suitable for children, Toribash doesn’t let a single drop of blood go to waste, splashing it all over the screen. The best part of the game is, without a doubt, the possibility of being able to play online with other players. Each victory will award you with points which you can trade in at the virtual store for new skills and features for your virtual character.

Cacto Loco

Cacto Loco is a traditional arcade game where you play a moving cactus that will have to make its way through different levels shooting its spines at every enemy that shows up. Cacto Loco's story is definitely the most bizarre thing about the game. Two lovers spending a lovely afternoon together are surprised by a shaman who, for no apparent reason, turns the man into a cactus and scares the woman away. A couple of years later, when the curse begins to fade away, the man is finally able to move (albeit still as a cactus) and runs off in search of his love. The gameplay, all cacti aside, will probably remind you of Gun Smoke. You'll have to make your way through levels brimming with enemies from an overhead view while you kill them all. Simple, effective and fun. Cacto Loco is a very entertaining traditional arcade that has not only a bizarre story and lovely pixelated graphics but also an addictive gameplay where skill is the most important thing of all.

Another Bird is a clone of Flappy Bird in the style of Another World. Your job is to guide the eagle from Another World through a series of pillars, trying to get as far as you can. Gameplay in Another Bird is identical to that in Flappy Bird. That means that you need to press your space bar to make your eagle fly, maintaining a steady rhythm to that it can pass safely through the holes in each pipe. It sounds easy, but it's absolutely not. The only real difference between Another Bird and Flappy Bird is its visual design, which abandons the retro style of Flappy Bird for some polished graphics that recall Another World, a classic game from the 90s. Another Bird is a perfect Flappy Bird clone, with the same gameplay dressed up in much more attractive graphics.

Motoracing is a motocross racing game where everything goes - it's great if you can outrace your opponents, but you can also kick them off the side of the track if you're falling behind. Motoracing includes three different courses, which might not sound like much, but actually offer a good amount of variety. You can change the time of day when you run each one, and even invert the course to experience a new route. In addition to different tracks, Motoracing includes different bikes that you can choose between. Each of them has specific stats for speed, handling, and acceleration. You can perform jump during the races, and earn bonus style points if you pull them off. Motoracing is a fun racing game, with various mode of play, great graphics, and a (relatively) realistic physics engine that will have you laughing out loud at some of your hilarious crashes.

Own version? yes, because it's just the graphic engine that is free, not the content itself. It means that you need a file called IWAD to play the game. Those IWAD files contain the music, graphics, sounds, enemies, weapons and more. Risen3D is a version of Doom that takes advantage of OpenGL technology to render the graphics. It can generate particle effects, models and high quality textures even better than the original ones seen in Doom. FreeDoom is a version of Doom you can play by using Risen3D, because they need each other: Risen3D is the graphic engine that supports all the power of FreeDoom and other similar games. Finally, configure lots of aspects of the game: mode, resolution, 3D sound, filters, skill and more.

Clone is a puzzle game that's very obviously inspired by the 90s classic Lemmings, where you had to move hundreds of little creatures around in order to solve puzzles. This time, instead of giving orders to a lot of brainless lemmings, you have to manipulate clones and beat the 150+ levels that make up the whole game. Although the single-player mode is already a lot of fun, the multiplayer mode is where Clones really stands out. In it you play with other people on the Internet and cooperate to complete special levels. Clones is a really fun mix between a puzzle and a strategy game. It can keep you hooked for hours on end.

LeafWind is a platformer where you play a friendly little tree leaf who needs to save the Green Space from an attack by mechanical creatures threatening to destroy the natural beauty of her home. Players have to guide their character through a dangerous 2D world. Your little leaf will jump and (being a leaf) glide freely around the level. Look out for thorns, though, as they can be lethal to her. Along the way, you'll have to pick up yellow balls to complete the levels. You'll also have to achieve certain objectives (like finding all the pieces of a machine to make it work) so you can continue on your adventure. LeafWind's incredible graphics are definitely one of its best features, with colors and lighting effects (the night levels are especially pretty) that are jaw-dropping. LeafWind is a gorgeous 2D platformer with a fun gameplay. Best of all, it's completely free.

Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag 2 is a two-dimensional fighting game that, thanks to the MUGEN engine, enables you to enjoy spectacular fights between some of the most popular characters from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. The cast of characters includes such well-loved figures as Son Goku, Son Goha, Vegeta, Krilin, and Piccolo, as well as others that aren't as well known, like Bardock, Nappa, Tao Pai Pai, and Janemba. You'll also encounter some especially strange characters, like Vegeta Baby, the giant monkey in super saiyan, and even Goku in the fifth level of saiyan. Each character has its own special abilities, and they're all very well done. The characters shout their famous phrases, and their movements are recreated almost exactly from their TV series versions. Like most games created using MUGEN, you can choose between several playing modes: arcade, versus, survival, training, etc. You can also choose to play alone, or with a friend sharing the computer. Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag 2 is a fun two-dimensional fighting game that, despite not being very polished, is still a great option among the large number of Dragon Ball fighting games out there.

Fatal Fury is a well-known fighting saga that features 1v1 combat, developed by SNK, and born as competition for Street Fighter II in the beginning of the 90s. With the years, their games have become a classic in the genre, and to the day they are still featured in collections and new editions. This fan game is an adaptation of the first title for Neo Geo, launched in 1991, and transported into a new genre, that of beat'em up games. The game can be seen as a remake of the first version, including original graphics and sound, but extended to offer different game modes. The story mode lets you choose one of the Bogard brothers (and Tung Fu Rue) in their adventures through the streets of South Town, against Geese Howard. Another game mode lets you choose between 11 characters, and beat levels through various different possible roads that lead to different endings. Still, The King of Fighters mode goes back to the 1v1 gameplay. The game, developed with the OpenBOR engine, which is focused particularly on the creation of beat'em up games, lets you set up various parameters like the screen resolution, support for USB controllers, and enables cooperative games in any mode. This is an essential game for any fan of SNK, Neo Geo, and fighting titles in general.

The Oil Blue is a strategy game in which you're the head of an important petroleum company whose main objective is, of course, to sell petroleum and raise the price as high as possible. To get the petroleum, you'll need to use a series of drilling machines to extract the precious black gold from the marine floor. This is something that's done almost exclusively with the mouse, and while you'll need to watch a few tutorials to understand how it works, it's pretty easy and fun to do. Either way, extracting the petroleum is only the beginning, since the aim of the game is to sell barrels of the stuff. To play well, you'll want to try to take advantage of the moments in which you can get more money for each barrel. And, as you play, you'll get experience points and improvements that will make your work more fun and complex. The Oil Blue is a very interesting game. If you love strategy and management games, you should definitely check it out.

Fire Point is a two dimensional platform game in which players control a firefighter that has to try to rescue all of the people trapped in a series of burning buildings. In order to do so, you can use a number of different elements. The truck's fire hose will be good, but the folding ladder will also help you enter high windows and get to places that seem inaccessible. You can also interact with objects inside the buildings, including fire extinguishers and the very people (or animals) you have to rescue. In fact, you might have to grab the people you are trying to rescue and throw them out of the building. Fire Point has simple but effective pixelated graphics. It doesn't stand out for its technical aspects in general, but it is still relatively attractive. Fire Point is a platform game with some very fun puzzle touches, and it has a firefighting theme that isn't very common in the world of video games. In addition, it has a number of hilarious references to pop culture or other video games.

However, the game's complexity increases exponentially, and we will have to push ourselves harder and harder if we want to solve each challenge. Save Or Kill's control system is very simple, thus allowing us to move the spheres around easily. Just use your PC mouse to rotate each board and move the two balls. However, it is very important to keep an eye on the blades and obstacles position at all times in order to move the marbles to the most suitable place. Save Or Kill is a very entertaining game with interesting gameplay that earned itself best title at the VII EVAD Game Jam. By rotating each of the square boards, we will move the two balls accurately until we reach our goal, which will lead us to increasingly difficult challenges.

In Warmux, you can choose from a variety of animals that will make up your team. Foxes, penguins, frogs, or even little devils are just a few of the options you'll have when selecting your team. You'll also find variety in the way you can fight and kill your enemies, as you'll be able to choose weapons from an impressive arsenal: missile launchers, dynamite, hand grenades, shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles...and also drills, jet packs, and other funny weapons. Warmux is a very fun game that's enjoyed best in the company of friends, since you can play with up to five people on the same computer (it's also possible to play over the Internet). All you have to do, like in the original Worms, is take turns using the mouse and start killing each other. It's as simple as it is fun.

You get your car and you arrive in a new and big city, you need money and the way you'll earn it is by taking part in illegal races and, of course, winning them. You'll take advantage of the minimap located in the lower left corner of the screen, where you'll see where the garages, races and the police are, yes, the police, because you'll take part in illegal races and they'll try to catch you, if you evade them you'll earn money and points too. In the garages you'll be able to paint, tune and upgrade your car, buying new engines, transmissions or wheels that will help you in the races. If the police is following you, you'll be able to evade them driving faster than them or changing the color of your car in one of the garages in the city. The graphics of the game are really good as you can check looking at the screenshots, the sound is good too, although the speed sensations are not as good as we'd like them to be. It's totally free and it's not difficult to use, what makes City Racing an interesting choice if you want to have fun for free driving cars and pushing the pedal to the metal.

Cubex is a game that gives you a virtual version of the classic Rubik's cube in 3D. Any fans of this popular puzzle can now have an electronic version on their computer to play at any time. Every time you open the program, the cube is exactly as you left it the last time you played. Concentrate and choose your moves wisely to solve it as quickly as possible. The game's interface is pretty simple. First and foremost, you see a big cube ready and waiting to move as you wish, and four small buttons in the upper left part of the screen. The first one will start a new game, the second will move the entire cube around randomly, and the next one will undo the last move made, while the last one offers more difficult challenges. Choose from cubes of up to seven by seven and put your brain to the test. To move any row in Cubex, you just have to use the mouse to click on it and rotate it to the position you want. To complete the puzzle, you can move the cube around to see all the sides. To do so, just click outside the cube and spin it around until you find the side you want to look at. With Cubex, you can have hours of fun solving Rubik's cubes that are as complex as you want.

Reversion is a traditional point-and-click graphic adventure where you play a man who wakes up in a Buenos Aires hospital after having been in a coma for 20 years. The main problem your protagonist will find himself in upon waking up is that everything he knew from his time has changed. It's the year 2035 and the city is in ruins and governed by a paramilitary force that terrorizes the few inhabitants left in the city. The game's adventure, however, isn't complete. This is because it's the first part of a three-episode series where you'll have to try and discover what's happened and how you can solve it ... if there even is a solution. The game's graphics are similar to certain traditional cartoon movies, with a detailed but fun design. Even if it doesn't present anything especially new, the results are very well done. Reversion is an entertaining graphic adventure that revives the flavor of traditional adventures from the 90s and offers an intriguing story with some fun characters.

If we had to pick the most influential Asian massive multiplayer online game of the past decade, without a doubt we'd pick the Lineage saga. The game, initially launched in Korea way back in 2003, has seen its user base go back to the way it was after the monthly subscription model was abandoned in 2011 for the free-to-play model. NCsoft's business model involves buying up objects and resources of that nature in order to sell them in their online store. Lineage 2 set the bar for western MMORPGs with a 3D gaming system that's controlled in third person. It allows you to improve your character through six different available races, and choose from a variety of professions that can improve your skill level. You can specialize in one of them as you level up and achieve different goals that will allow you to branch off into sub-classes. The game includes practically every element that has since become genre-standard, such as crafting, creating alliances, pets, monsters, and housing systems. Although it's been active for more than a decade, its developers keep releasing expansions with more content, making Lineage 2 more up to date than ever. It's definitely one of the most played games worldwide.
