Slayin

Slayin is an arcade game where you control a small warrior who has to face an endless horde of terrifying monsters on a small setting. It's a pretty common concept, but it offers a rather odd kind of gameplay. Your hero is always moving with his sword pointing ahead, so any enemy that touches you immediately dies. The problem is that the scenario is really small, and there are enemies constantly coming from every side, so you have to move quickly, turn, and jump in order to kill them all before they kill you. When you kill enemies, you also level up and get money. With that money you can buy new weapons, such as longswords and armors to reduce the damage inflicted by the monsters. You can also buy traditional roast chickens in order to regain your health. As you advance in the game and level up, you'll meet new enemies and even some bosses. The minotaur and the little devil are just the first two of many other monsters that stand on your way. Slayin is a simple and addictive arcade game, but it hides quite a lot more content than it seems at first sight. For instance, you can unlock new characters like the thief after you get to a certain level playing with the warrior.

Anodyne is an action, platform, and adventure game with gameplay and aesthetics similar to the Zelda saga. In it you play a young man who ventures through a series of abstract 160x160 pixel rooms that evoke different states of the human mind. In these rooms you'll have to fight many different enemies (including bosses), solve puzzles, or overcome obstacles. To do so you have to count on your own ability and some other surprises that you'll find on your adventure. At the artistic level, Anodyne is an excellent game. The graphics, as mentioned above, are reminiscent of Zelda: A Link to the Past in a very gratifying way (although they actually resemble practically any Super Nintendo game). The soundtrack, for its part, is very evocative and has some remarkable pieces. Anodyne is a very interesting adventure game that, besides being fun and including an addictive gameplay, has an gripping story full of hidden details for more curious players to discover.

Depths of Darkness

3 (919)

Depths of Darkness is a roguelike with simple gameplay in which your objective is to reach level 99 of a monster-infested dungeon, gathering as many treasures as you can along the way. Unlike other games from the same genre, Depths of Darkness is controlled exclusively with your mouse, and playing is very simple and intuitive. To pick up objects, for example, you just need to make sure your character is standing over them, which automatically adds them to your inventory. Combat is also very simple: you attack first, and the monster responds, which means that if your opponent is stronger, you will be killed with its counterattack, and you'll have to start all over again. Luckily, you're able to see an enemy's level before you attack, so you can decide which one is best to kill first. Depths of Darkness is a roguelike with very few options, which surprisingly is what makes it so fun and addictive. Getting to the end of the dungeon and defeating the final boss is not a task to be undertaken lightly.

Kepler452b is a futuristic-looking 'roguelike' set in a space station located near the planet Kepler-452b -- a little over 1,800 light years from earth. Your mission is to find the four keys necessary for returning home. The gameplay in Kepler452b covers all the bases of the genre. All the action takes place by turns, the settings are randomly generated in each round, your character's death is permanent, and the difficulty level is pretty high. This is all in addition to the fact that you have to do everything exclusively using the keyboard. One very interesting element in Kepler452b is that there are various conditions for victory and several different endings, something that's unique for the genre. If you get the four keys but you don't get all the 'intel,' you'll get the first ending. If you get all the 'intel,' you'll get the second ending. If you manage to escape without the four keys you'll get the third ending. You can only see the fourth ending if you completely clear the last level of the game. Kepler452b is an excellent, 'roguelike' with a traditional feel. It offers at atmosphere that's relatively uncommon within the genre, with a classic (but very straightforward) control system, and simple yet elegant graphics.

Juego El Ahorcado Biblico is a version of the classic Hangman game in which, instead of choosing any old word, you have to play exclusively with biblical terms. This is a perfect way to learn about religion while also having fun. There are over 100 different words available to play with. The words range from names like Herod to more common words like 'cross' or 'church'. The goal, as you probably already guessed, is to guess the biblical word or phrase (from the 1960 King James version) by selecting the letters of the alphabet. If they appear in the word, they will be placed in the word, and if not, then you're one step closer to losing. Juego El Ahorcado Biblico is an entertaining game that kids can use to learn about religion while having fun. Older children, however, may find it too simple.

You have different types of units that fight better or worse against others. Infantry, air units, naval units, tanks ... each has its own strengths when completing certain tasks. Custom Wars also comes with a very complete level editor that gives you the option to create and share your own maps. You can easily add anything to any scene (if needed, the game's manual explains the controls). You do not start the game alone. Accompanying our main character there is a character controlled by the artificial intelligence that normally covers your back in quite an efficient way. Although your companion will act on his own by default, you can also give him orders and even share your equipment (bandages, medicine and weapons) with him, so that he can help you in a more efficient way. Through the Dead City is an entertaining action survival game, that will put the player in the shoes of a survivor that normally won't survive very long, because the zombies of the game are ruthless.

Dragon's Prophet is a massive multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) from the Runewaker Entertainment studio (which developed the hit Runes of Magic) in which players can plunge into a fantasy world where dragons play a key role. During their adventures, players (who can create their avatars by choosing from among four different character classes) can raise and hunt dragons. Even better, they can saddle them up and ride them into combat. Why fight on foot when you can do so on the back of a dragon? The combat system is one of the key features of Dragon's Prophet. The game uses an auto-aim system that makes for more dynamic battles in which you have to strike, block and dodge your enemies. You no longer have to click away on a bunch of icons. Like in a lot of other MMORPGs, it's possible to create factions and clans in Dragon's Prophet. So, you can gather your friends together and carry out some of the game's more complicated missions together with the other members of your group. Although Dragon's Prophet is mainly geared towards combat and exploration (with a certain emphasis on character development as well), the game's story is also very important. The Auratia universe has a very rich background and its story is rather more complex than what games in this genre usually offer. Dragon's Prophet is an MMORPG that combines a very entertaining combat system with a breathtaking world and story and outstanding graphics. The result is one of the best free-to-play games of 2013.

Donna: Avenger of Blood

Donna: Avenger of Blood is a traditional adventure game in which you play as Donna, a woman who has been turned into a vampire fairly recently. The game begins with your protagonist looking out the window of her hotel room, a few minutes before dawn, as a group of vampire hunters breaks down the door and shoots her, causing her to break the window and rush into the street. Thanks to her powers, she manages to survive, but her situation is dire. The gameplay in Donna: Avenger of Blood will be familiar to anyone who has ever played a point and click adventure game, as this game was developed using the popular Adventure Game Studio engine. At the bottom of the interface, there's a list of all the actions you can perform, among which you'll find the usual Look, Talk, and Interact, although there are also actions more specific to your protagonist, such as Biting or Hitting. After all, Donna needs blood to survive. And that will be one of your main concerns throughout this game. The setting of Donna: Avenger of Blood is dark, oppressive, and dangerous. The game is not overtly inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade or World of Darkness, but your protagonist's surroundings certainly have a very similar mood. Some of Donna's powers, for example, have the same names as similar ones from the Vampire: The Masquerade books. And the general decadence feels very similar to that of World of Darkness, only without the same proper names found in that city and among its inhabitants. An adventure game lives or dies based on the quality of its story, dialogue, and characters. Donna: Avenger of Blood, paradoxically, lives. At the beginning of the adventure, you might feel a little confused, as the game doesn't include a tutorial to explain the importance of blood or vampire powers. But as soon as the action picks up some speed, you'll discover a gripping story that's much deeper than the supernatural thriller label typically suggests. This is a story worth discovering for yourself. Of course, it also includes some quality puzzles, which are challenging without being absurdly frustrating, which is a nice change of pace for a game of this genre. Donna: Avenger of Blood is an outstanding point and click adventure game that's sure to please any fan of the genre, although it will particularly appeal to fans of the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade, as well as fans of supernatural novels. Its visuals, which at first glance may seem a bit rough, are easily forgiven as soon as you take into account that the game was developed by a single person using photographs. In short, this is a must-have title.

This means that you will be able to fight off endless waves of demons and other aberrations with your fists, your legs, a baseball bat, and a whole lot of bloodlust. As with many Doom II mods, in order to play Splatterhouse 3D correctly, you will need to have the original game files and the free mod manager GZDoom installed on your PC. If you have fulfilled these two requirements, you will only have to unzip the splat3dmus.pk3 file in a new folder, and drag it to the GZDoom executable. And that's it, with that you can start playing. All your saved games will be stored in the same folder. Splatterhouse 3D offers you three different episodes, each comprised of six levels, making a total of eighteen different levels, full of demons that want to halt your progress. The three episodes of the game are, in order, Breakup from Hell, The Gate of Orpheus and Fall of the House of Taylor. Each one has a different setting, its own final bosses and a few more surprises. Ideally, they should be played in order, but it is not strictly necessary. One of the most fun aspects of Splatterhouse 3D is the wide variety of new enemies you will have to face. Some of the game's weapons, such as the shotgun or the chainsaw, will ring a bell if you're a fan of Doom; but the enemies are completely new. You will be able to slaughter more than a dozen horrifying creatures, from despicable ghouls that crawl towards you, to silent specters capable of surprising you in any situation. Many of these monsters, moreover, are clearly inspired by the Lovecraft Myths. Download Splatterhouse 3D to enjoy the Splatterhouse saga like never before: from a first-person perspective and in fully 3D settings. This is an outstanding mod that has an extensive and fun campaign mode, and a great variety of enemies that will delight fans of this saga.
