YSoccer is a free and open source version of a classic game called Sensible World of Soccer, which is one of the most accessible and entertaining soccer games ever, released for the first time in 1994. This project was originally conceived of as Yoda Soccer, a previous version of the game that's still playable, although it lacks all the improvements included in this version. The controls are very simple. With them, you can have a blast playing soccer with a single button (plus the directional keys, of course). Depending on when and for how long you press this button, you can pass the ball or take shots on goal. If you've played before, then you'll know that if you press the arrow keys when you take a shot, you can even apply some spin, which increases your chances of scoring. Because YSoccer is free and open source, it doesn't have any official player or team licenses, so every name and logo has been replaced by a royalty-free version. Before FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer arrived to your PC and video console, the football game which was installed in all computers was Sensible Soccer. It was magnific. We have to think that it was 1997 and it offered really good graphics for that times and great speed, because of that there are people who still remember those large afternoons (and nights) playinf Sensible Soccer with friends. Now, after next to ten years, we receive a new release, Sensible Soccer 2006. It’s a long time since that last version, so a graphical comparison would be stupid. But we have to say that once you start playing you realise it’s Sensible Soccer, its cenital view, game strategy,... Now we play with cartoon players with big head, and we’ll play faster and faster, as we used to play years ago. Don’t expect for a Fifa or Pro Evolution Soccer, Sensible Soccer is different, it bets for gaming experience, You have to pass the ball, find the correct position, and shoot. Football is a football game that is both independent and free, two aspects totally at odds with the vast majority of sports titles available today. Where most games opt for a style closer to that seen during the time of the 16 bit machines, Football competes in the same league as the latest Fifa and PES games. The game has a very similar control system to these games: pass, cross, pass long, sprint, dribble and, of course, shoot. In short, anyone who is familiar with the controls on Pro Evolution Soccer, will be pleasant surprised with Football. As far as options go, Football is a bit on the light side. So you only get a few teams (without licenses, of course), and can only play friendlies. However, you can enjoy a game with a friend (either against each other or on the same side). You do get a good range of options when it comes to the in game camera, a very important feature for a lot of players. You can move it closer, further away, in the stand, side on, etc depending on your own personal taste. Football is a great game, and surprisingly available for free. Obviously, it cannot compete against the best in the genre, but the effort is commendable non the less.

The number of vehicles available is 28. There are all kinds from an old mini to a formula or a porsche. One of the most interesting features of the game is its use of physics. The car responds exactly to the movements. You can race in practice mode and multiplayer on LAN. If you have more than one computer in your house, you know. The application still has some "bugs" to be worked out, so do not be surprised if you find some minor flaws.

You can pay, it is true, to have additional games, although it isn’t necessary.

This means the game has the exact same graphics as the mobile version, but with better resolution and performance. Likewise, the controls are perfectly adapted to use a keyboard: with the arrow keys, you'll control your player and with the keys A, S, W and D you can sprint, pass, center, and shoot the ball. The first thing you can do when you start playing Vive le Football, is choose the look of your 'manager.' This is your character, who you can move directly through your club's facilities and will always be on the sidelines directing the games. Once you have your coach, you just have to choose what league and club you want to start out with. This choice is very important, since the first matches will be played with the team you choose. One of the best things about Vive le Football is the great variety of game modes it offers. In addition to the classic tournaments, you can enjoy a great story mode where you'll get to relive certain matches that require you to complete specific objectives. For example, in one of them, you'll have to try to make a comeback in a game where your team is losing at 80 minutes into the game. Vive le Football is NetEase's latest big venture in the world of soccer games. We're talking about a title with a direct and fun gameplay, great graphics and official licenses.
