Although Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion' aesthetic is charming and cartoony, the game is full of horror. FIFA 12, Battlefield 3, Star Wars The Old Republic, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning... all of them require Origin to be played. Origin is more than a simple way to play online games, it also offers an online shop to buy downloadable games for a reasonable price. One of the main advantages of Origin is the possibility to get all your games backed up onto the cloud. So, in the event you have to format your computer or you buy a new one all you have to do is hit download to get all your games back. In addition, the platform comes with some free games in it which are honestly pretty good: Battlefield Heroes, Need for Speed World and Battleforge are just a few of the titles you'll play for FREE. Origin still isn't a major site like Steam, but if EA keeps launching exclusive games on Origin, it'll grow day by day.

One element stands out within the game: the creature. It's a strange being that follow you through the whole game, watching you, similar to the classic 'Slender Man' games. Your objective is of course to escape and abandon this mysterious setting, leaving all of the terror behind. Imscared is a short but intense game. Gameplay is simple and mainly based in exploration, ideal for maintaining a constant sense of unease. The majority of the game involves traveling through hallways and looking for keys to open locked doors. The question is, though: do you really want to open those doors?

Deepfall Dungeon is a quintessential first-person RPG where you enter a dungeon and then have to work your way down to the lowest level in order to find a way out and escape certain death. You will, however, encounter all sorts of obstacles and setbacks along the way. The most common, as usual for games like this, will be the monsters that you'll be able to fight off using both your weapons and your magic. Traps can also prove to be a problem you should take into serious consideration. As you enter further into the dungeon, you'll also find characters who aren’t enemies and whom you can talk to and trade with ... or steal from. It's not all sword thrusts and fireballs in Deepfall Dungeon. At the technical level, the game isn't that spectacular, but it does the job. Neither the soundtrack nor the graphics stand out in any significant way, but then again they're really not that essential to this type of game. Deepfall Dungeon is a pretty good RPG that, in spite of not reaching the level of quality found in similar recent games like Legend of Grimrock, does manage to offer a very enjoyable experience without having to pay any money at all.

Xenonauts is a turn-based strategy game, a worthy successor to the legendary X-Com saga, in which you will have to lead the defense of earth against an alien invasion. Gameplay is divided into two main stages. In the first one, you'll have to manage all the resources available to you, research, and go through countless menus in what is definitely the pure management-strategy part of the game. In the second stage you'll go straight to the battlefield, where you'll control a squad of humans to face the invading troops in a way that is typical of turn-based strategy games like Jagged Alliance and X-Com. The game’s graphics provide a very peculiar look, with very detailed pixelated models and great visuals that fit in perfectly with the setting. The only part where they have some room for improvement are in the special effects, such as explosions and fire, yet even here the results are quite decent. Xenonauts is a great strategy game that won’t just appeal to X-Com die-hard fans, but also to fans of turn-based strategy games in general.

Snowball's Chance is a short platformer starring a snowball. In it, your goal is to get the snowball to the end of each of the 18 levels, separated into three different types of settings. As you play, you'll want to avoid all the obstacles you find along the way, since the slightest mistake can spell the end for Snowball. Visually speaking, Snowball's Chance is not that great. Although it's colorful, the general design of the characters and scenarios leaves a lot to be desired. Luckily, the most important part of a game is its gameplay, not its appearance. Snowball's Chance is an entertaining platform game, and although it's very short, it's also completely free. Can't hurt anything to give it a shot.
