Fragmentation is quite a simple independent game where your objective is to run through a 3D tunnel while avoiding all the obstacles. To dodge the obstacles, you have to move left, right, jump, crouch, and even change the direction of gravity. This way, the game takes full advantage of the 3D setting. Also, the levels are randomly generated, so you'll never play the same game more than once. Fragmentation is an entertaining, unpretentious game. Ideal for passing the time with quick five-minute rounds.

Incomitat is a rather peculiar game where you don't seem to have a defined goal. You simply wake up inside a cabin with a bed, an oven, a pick, and a sickle, and it will be up to you to discover what the heck you're doing there. For that purpose, you'll obviously have to explore your surroundings, where you'll find trees to cut down, grass to grow, animals to hunt, and even creatures that will try to kill you, like ghosts and skeletons. Sooner or later you'll discover that you're trapped on an island, as within a few screens you'll run into large masses of water that will lead to certain death if you dare try crossing them. On top of this, if you look hard enough, it's possible that you'll come across a boss who will make things really complicated. Incomitat's pixelated graphics, while not spectacular, are nice enough to make playing a proper pleasure. Incomitat is a short game in every aspect but can be quite frustrating due to its lack of defined goals. However, if you focus on just exploring and having a good time, it can get very fun.

Total Overdose is back on the market with an action game that throws in a bunch of new punches. In Total Overdose you'll encounter non-stop action sequences set in an authentically Mexican backdrop. With its jokes, fun and wacky main character (along with a whole set of baddies and their crew) you'll be hooked to it's non-stop laughs. In Total Overdose you get to drive cars and roam the streets out on the lookout for extra points and weapons -- just like GTA. You begin the game as Ramiro Cruz, El Gringo Loco to his friends and enemies. He is one seriously bad-assed ex-con who attempts to take down the criminal organizations that smoked his brother and father. He claims for revenge! Playing as Ramiro Cruz you will have to kill everything moving on the screen, and it will bring back to your mind Robert Rodriguez movies. It's got serious game chops, slapstick humor, better-than-decent graphics, and a whole lot of crazy fun buried deep in its core. A third-person action shooter employing the deployment of thousands of bullets every few minutes, Total Overdose uses shooting as the mechanic to set everything off. The more guys you kill, things you break, and the greater the diversity of moves earns you points, increasing your kill chain. Fire your guns and finish all enemies doing completely off the wall special moves, and all this surrounded with a delightfully rough and tumble soundtrack.

Yeti is a short indie graphic adventure where you play a documentarian who travels to the Himalayas in hopes of finding some proof of the existence of the Yeti. To his surprise (and yours), he soon discovers that the Yeti lives a much more normal life than one would think, and is even planning a trip to Toronto. The aim of the game from then on is to get the Yeti to his destination safe and sound. This adventure, obviously a comedy, evolves as you keep clicking on different parts of the screen. Sometimes you have to tap the screen to distract other characters, sometimes steal something from them, and sometimes just keep following the Yeti. Yeti is a quite a short graphic adventure (you can finish it in less than 20 minutes), but it's sure to get a smile or two out of you.

Ancient Domains of Mystery (ADOM) is one of the most successful roguelike games of all time. It was released in 1994, and still has a solid number of active players. At the start, as in other games of this genre, you have to create and customize your character, choosing from among various races (elf, human, dwarf, orc, troll, etc.) and classes (warrior, mage, priest, thief, explorer, etc.). You can also randomize your character, or customize it down to the smallest detail. Once you have your character set up, you can start fulfilling the prophecy that serves as the backdrop for the game's story: a hero will rise from among the rest to end the darkness that looms over Ancardia. It won't be easy to succeed in this enterprise, though. Following the traditions of roguelike games, Ancient Domains of Mystery has an interface controlled by the keyboard only (you should read the manual before playing), permanent death, random and fatal dungeons, and very simple graphics that will take veteran roguelike players back to the good old days. Ancient Domains of Mystery (ADOM) is a highly entertaining RPG that has more to it than most modern commercial games. Its main drawback (or asset, depending on your point of view) is that it takes time to master the controls and all the options they offer.

Panzar is a multiplayer action game (with slight touches of strategy and role), which will allow various players to come face to face through Internet in spectacular duels set in a medieval fantasy universe where humans, orcs, dwarves and a mysterious race of witches are at constant war. Following the general guidelines of this genre, the players will have the possibility to choose between different types of characters, being able to choose two amongst each of the races. The orcs have the berserker and the tanks, while humans can choose between paladins and inquisitors, the dwarves between sappers and gunners and the witches between sisters of ice or of fire. Each race has its own advantages and disadvantages, and more importantly their own talents tree. Thanks to this talents tree we will be able to access new spells and special techniques. But, to get enough experience for this we will have to show our worth on the battle field. The most spectacular and surprising bit of Panzar, however, has nothing to do with the way battles are fought PvP, which is quite traditional, but with its graphic section. The game uses the CryEngine 3 engine (the same as Crysis 3) and consequently, offers a spectacular graphic finish very superior to many commercial games. Panzar is an online duel game, which thanks to a simple mechanic oriented to pure action and a spectacular graphic section, has the potential to hook users looking for a direct and entertaining experience.

Iconoclasts is a two-dimensional adventure that follows the classic design of 'Metroidvania'-style games, where you need to unlock new objects and places to advance through the adventure. The first thing that you'll notice about the game is its excellent graphic design, with fantastic characters (in fact, the author of the game is an illustrator) and a 16-bit aesthetic that will bring tears of nostalgia to the eyes of anyone who enjoyed Super Nintendo or Sega Megadrive back in the day. Once you're past the shock of first impressions, you'll find out that Iconoclasts is a really fun game, with parts that are pure platform mixed with wild action and crazy final bosses. Unfortunately, Iconoclasts is not yet finished, as its author has run out of funding (you can make donations through his website). Still, it's highly playable and enjoyable, even if just for a few hours.

Thus, as in Minecraft, players have complete freedom to move around the world at will, destroying or creating sections of scenery and fighting with enemies. For these battles, you can find new weaponry to do even more damage and ensure that you always come out victorious. At the time being, there is no definite goal in Vox, so that the 'aim' of the game is just to live and survive in the beautiful world full of 'voxels' and colour. Depending on the areas you venture into, this can become a really daunting task. Vox is a fun adventure game that is full of possibilities, and has the potential to become one of the smashes of 2013. Combats are pretty fast and full of special hits that flood the screen with colors and explosions; but not an ounce of blood. One of the most striking aspects of the game is its graphics, as can be seen in the images; it includes well designed models and excellent animations. The character design will also appeal to fans of anime and manga. Vanguard Princess is a very fun fighting game that does require quite a bit of skill from the user (in order to carry out the special moves), once this is mastered however, the game becomes terribly fun.
