Senseless

4 (618)

Senseless is a very strange gaming experience where you'll be enveloped in complete darkness (the screen is always totally black) while you listen to a stranger's voice talking to you. In theory, at least. In practice you'll probably just listen to the relaxing music as you click on every part of the screen just trying to figure out if you can catch even the slightest glimmer of light. Senseless is a very special 'game' that, despite receiving an honorable mention at the IGF (Independent Games Festival), might be a little too odd to be fun.

Better Spades is an open source replica of the classic Ace of Spades, a very popular game in the early 2010s, that combines construction-based gameplay like Minecraft's with the usual gameplay of multiplayer shooters. The original game unfortunately closed it servers years ago, but luckily, there's still this very interesting alternative. In Better Spades, you'll find many different game modes, including the classic deathmatch, capture the flag, and zombie mode. The game also has a very dedicated community of players, so you'll almost always find other players online with whom you can play on one of the many available maps. Normally, with a single tap, you can enter any game and start playing. From the game options menu, you can change the controls or adjust the graphics. The game has very low minimum requirements, so you can play it on practically any computer that's capable of running Windows. That said, you can also increase the resolution and activate extra graphic options to make Better Spades look nicer. Better Spades is an excellent online shooter that combines all the magic and depth of Minecraft with the fast pace of a shooting game. Basically, this is a fun option that you can always turn to for a quick game online. The game doesn't require installation, either, and it only takes up 8MB.

At first, there will be simple waves of mutant pigs or cows, but it won't take long to see how they create defensive shields or work together to make things more difficult. Even though Project FPTD players can control one of the turrets directly, you can also move freely around the map, shooting your machine gun at all of your enemies. Project FPTD is a good combination of the FPS and Tower Defense genres, which offers a crazy approach and a very fun gameplay. In addition, it has great graphics.

Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an unofficial game in the Castlevania saga. Despite being developed by a fan of the franchise, it'll give you an equal gaming experience or, perhaps, outdo many of Konami's official releases. With there being no other option, Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles keeps true to the 'metroidvania' gameplay inherent in the saga. That means that you can move freely around the two-dimensional levels while fighting off hordes of unique enemies using your whip and special throwing items. A noteworthy difference between The Lecarde Chronicles and other Castlevania games is that you'll have a neutral town that you can visit at anytime. Once there, you can rest, talk to the town's inhabitants, and take on some side quests. Visually, Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles also holes up a pleasing surprise since, instead of reusing other games' sprites, it relies on originally spectacular graphics that bestows fairly high resolution graphics. Castlevania: The Lecarde Chronicles is an overachieving game that doesn't need to envy the rest of the Konami's saga's games because, without doubt, it is one of the best unofficial Castlevania games out there.

Controls are specifically designed for the Xbox 360 controller, although it can easily be controlled using a keyboard and mouse. You can carry out nearly all of the actions by almost exclusively using the mouse and a couple of keys on the keyboard. An important detail on Zineth is that, apart from the game itself, you'll have access to a type of virtual mobile phone on the right hand of the screen in whcih you can register all of your missions and check your real twitter account (as well as tweet) or play fun mini games. Visually, Zineth is madness. It uses a 'cell-shading' style that's full of colors and makes playing a truly surreal trip. Plus, it’s optimized really well and manages to maintain a high frame rate at all times. Zineth is a game that's as strange as it is fun. By having an open world and different missions to complete it can end up lasting for a very long time; but the best thing is that you can do whatever you want pretty much any time.

Trench Foot

Trench Foot is a mod for Doom II that takes you out of the original setting of the Id Software game in favor of a much darker one, reminiscent of World War I, in which two factions have been engaged in a bloody war for years. You will assume the role of the Master Templar, a mythical figure of the True Faith, whose goal is to put an end to the feud. Almost all mods for Doom II are executed in a similar way. The first thing you have to do to play Trench Foot is to unzip the content of the compressed file in any folder. Inside, you will be left with two files: TrenchFoot.pk3 and TF-maps.pk3. Simply select both files and drag them into the GZDoom executable. And that's it. It is very important, however, to drag both files at the same time. Otherwise, you will not be able to enjoy the full experience. Although it uses the Doom II engine, Trench Foot incorporates a host of changes that radically alter the base game. The story and setting, of course, are completely different from those of the original game, including the backstory, which you can discover in playable prequels developed by the same team. Similarly, the game includes more than a dozen new enemies and as many weapons, which have been specially designed for the mod. You will even be able to face new bosses, with spectacular designs. What makes Trench Foot stand out compared to other mods and the vast majority of first-person shooter games is that almost all the action takes place in the trenches. You will spend most of your time in narrow and claustrophobic settings, knowing that behind every corner or mound of earth you might find a new enemy pointing in your direction. This usually makes the combat fast and brutal, with no compromises. One shotgun blast at point-blank range is all it will take for enemies to bite the dust. Download Trench Foot and enjoy an excellent full conversion of Doom II. This is an outstanding mod that offers a new story, new enemies, new weapons and several hours of gameplay that will allow you to enjoy the game like the first time you played. Undoubtedly, this is a gift for FPS lovers in general and boomer shooters in particular.

touchHLE is an iOS game and app emulator for Windows operating systems that requires no BIOS or special configurations of any kind. The emulator is capable of running apps and video games from iPhone OS 2.x upwards, with new versions of the operating system and new games supported with each new update. Of course, its developers have already warned that the emulator will never be compatible with 64-bit versions of iOS. Using touchHLE is super simple. You must unzip the compressed file in a folder and double-click on the .exe file. And that's it. To be able to play any of the compatible games, you'll need to put them in an .ipa or .app format in the "touchHLE_apps" folder. This is the only way the emulator can recognize the apps, and you can run them by double-clicking on their icons. Alternatively, you can also drag an .ipa file directly to the .exe file. When running any iOS game or app, you should keep touchHLE's compatibility list in mind, which can be found on its official website. If an app is not on the list, it will most likely not work or work poorly. For this reason, testing only those games whose compatibility has been confirmed is recommended. If an error pops up when testing an app on the compatibility list, the problem can likely be solved by closing the Steam or Discord overlay, which often interfere with the program's operation. Download touchHLE and enjoy some of the best early iOS games, many of which are now incompatible with almost all modern devices. On the Internet Archive's own page, you can find many apps and games in .ipa format ready to be downloaded and run smoothly in the emulator. Remember: the only thing you need to do is to save all iOS games and apps inside the "touchHLE_apps" folder.

You will control all of the members of your marine squadron simultaneously, with the ability to alternate from one to another whenever you want. Each member has their own individual special ability, which means that you can use one to launch grenades, while another, for example, never has to recharge. In addition to controlling your marines in first person, you can view a tactical map of the zone where you're located, so that you can give rapid orders to your men. That helps your team move quickly through the ship, without you having to control each member directly. Your men will always shoot when confronted by an enemy, but you have to be very careful about these situations, since a sole marine may not be able to survive an encounter with a dangerous creature. Derelict is a realtime strategy action game that, despite not having great graphics (both the graphics and sound are lacking), offers a unique and quite spectacular playing experience. It's something between horror and science fiction, and that's simply awesome.
