The world of Star Conflict is set more than three thousand years after the first colonies abandon Earth in search of new planets. Technology has of course evolved, which allows us to not only discover and visit systems beyond the Solar, but also develop technology that permits humans to travel quickly between the new areas. At the beginning of the game, you'll take on the role of commander of a fleet of ships with the power to control many different types of machines. From small recovery ships to enormous frigates full of weapons, tons of different options will be at your disposal. Best of all, you'll find ways to personalize each one of them. As you might expect with this type of game, the universe is divided into different factions (in this case, three), so you'll need to ally yourself with one of them in order to fight against the other two. It creates intense space-based battles where you'll have to depend almost exclusively on your ability. Star Conflict is a fun spaceship game that perfectly combines elements from familiar ship simulators with other details from massive multiplayer games to create a unique experience that is absolutely worth your time to try.

Neverwinter is a multiplayer role game set in the atmosphere of campaign of the Forgotten Realms, which has the official license of Dungeons and Dragons and has been developed by veterans of the genre from Cryptic Studios. Like in most role games (specially the multiplayer), the first thing we will have to do when we start the game will be to create out character from scratch, something we will do following a modification of the rule established in the fourth edition of Dungeons and Dragons. This means we will have to start by choosing a name and sharing out a series of points between the attributes strength, ability, resistance, wisdom, charisma and intelligence. We will also have to choose a race: human, half-elf, elf, dwarf, halfling, drow or tieflin; and a class: explorer, warrior, cleric, wizard or rouge. Once we establish the background and appearance of our character, and it´s ready for action, it will be the moment to start our adventure in the city of Neverwinter and its surroundings, which is where the story takes place. Once we start our journey as adventurers we will be participants in a fantasy world which as in the majority of MMORPGs, is governed by events. When we participate in these events, we will be able to enjoy the typical adventures of the Dungeons and Dragons games, which we will have to try and overcome with the help of our adventurers. Resolve quests, kill enemies and carry out other kinds of actions related to each player´s character class, will help us gain experience. And just like in the board games (and any other role game) when we get a determined number of `experience´ we can go to a higher level. Neverwinter is a very complete MMORPG with a solid base which provides it with a set of rules like the ones in Dungeons and Dragons. The background of the Forgotten Realms and the promise of being able to create our own adventures is just the icing on the cake.

Aion: The Tower of Eternity, the game's complete name, is a free MMORPG (although it started out as for pay) set in the epic fantasy world of Atreia where dragons, semi-gods and all kinds of legendary creatures intermingle. The game, like most of its type, comes with both PvP (player versus player) components as well as PvE (Player versus environment) components. In PvE players can group themselves into factions and go on several different missions in an attempt to obtain the best objects or simply to increase their character’s powers. The PvP component of Aion is well developed and allows players to face each other in the Abyss of Balaurea, where they may obtain points from the abyss. These special points can be used later on to buy improvements which only they have access to. A feature that makes Aion different from all the rest of MMORPG's is the process of creating your character, which you can choose from among four main classes: warrior, scout, mage or priest. Once you reach level 10 however, you can specialize yourself once more and choose between two new subclasses. Aion is a huge massively multiplayer online role-playing game. To its enormous amount of content, both in missions as in enemies, spells, abilities, and history you must add its amazing graphics that look especially good when you are personalizing your avatars.

Dragon's Prophet is a massive multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) from the Runewaker Entertainment studio (which developed the hit Runes of Magic) in which players can plunge into a fantasy world where dragons play a key role. During their adventures, players (who can create their avatars by choosing from among four different character classes) can raise and hunt dragons. Even better, they can saddle them up and ride them into combat. Why fight on foot when you can do so on the back of a dragon? The combat system is one of the key features of Dragon's Prophet. The game uses an auto-aim system that makes for more dynamic battles in which you have to strike, block and dodge your enemies. You no longer have to click away on a bunch of icons. Like in a lot of other MMORPGs, it's possible to create factions and clans in Dragon's Prophet. So, you can gather your friends together and carry out some of the game's more complicated missions together with the other members of your group. Although Dragon's Prophet is mainly geared towards combat and exploration (with a certain emphasis on character development as well), the game's story is also very important. The Auratia universe has a very rich background and its story is rather more complex than what games in this genre usually offer. Dragon's Prophet is an MMORPG that combines a very entertaining combat system with a breathtaking world and story and outstanding graphics. The result is one of the best free-to-play games of 2013.

The chosen one, of course, could be you. Nothing of elves, orcs, dwarves or humans here, instead you find four totally unique breeds. Then players will have to choose from one of the seven classes available, and customize your 'soul mate', a spirit that will accompany you at all times through the game. Once you begin to play you find the usual stuff you get in any MMORPG: a huge open world to explore, dozens of NPCs with useful information for the player, lots of 'quests', each differing slightly from each other, that ask you to recover artefacts or kill enemies, and of course, hundreds of enemies ready to be killed and give you experience and objects. What sets Arcane Saga Online apart is the class system and combos. This system will enable us to continue picking new classes as you go through the levels, and incorporate their skills to your list of combos. In this way we can customize our attacks to levels rarely seen in the genre. Arcane Saga Online is a really well realised MMORPG: it has very good graphics, a more than decent soundtrack and a dynamic combat system that goes beyond constantly clicking on some icons.

Rift is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in which players can delve into a fantasy world that’s located in the intersection of elemental planes of existence, Telara. It is in this world that your characters begin their adventures. At the beginning of the game players can choose between several different classes: warrior, cleric, rogue or mage. Each one of these classes can also evolve as you advance through the tree of souls. You can find more elements to customize your avatar in the race selection which includes six different races. The main action in Rift takes place in adventure mode, in it you can carry out tons of missions which usually involve killing dozens of enemies. You can, of course, do this alone or with friends, forming anything from groups of adventurers to true war parties. As in any worthy MMORPG, you’ll also find battles between players (PvP), which are the best way of gaining experience, unique objects, and above all, glory. Finally, in special events you’ll be able to live truly spectacular situations. Giant creatures may invade your plane and attack all the players in it; it’s at moments like these is when true heroes will show what they are made of. Rift is an excellent MMORPG in which players can explore even the most remote corner of an amazing fantasy world. Telara is not only a nice place to see, it is also very alive and has a very rich backdrop.

Like in all MOBA games, the objective of each round is to destroy the enemy's base. When you play Arena of Heroes you'll have a minimum of four playable characters each week (two fixed and two rotating). As you play and win battles, you'll also win money, gems, and fame, all of which you can use to improve your characters' abilities, making them more powerful so that they can participate in more intense battles. Arena of Heroes is a fun genre hybrid that will satisfy fans of MOBA who want to try something new, as well as hardcore turn-based strategy players who are looking for a different angle.

Wakfu is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game with touches of turn-based strategy, in which you form part of a lively ecosystem where your actions have long-lasting consequences and your decisions could directly affect other players. The combat system, unlike in many other MMORPGS, is turn-based. Players have action points, movement points, and Wafku points that they can use however they want with each turn. Its most obvious references are games like Final Fantasy Tactics and the Fire Emblem saga. Although combat is a very important aspect of Wakfu, it's far from being the only thing you can do. The politics of the World of Twelve are run by the players, who take turns on a weekly basis holding important positions such as governor of one of the kingdoms. Due to these political changes, players have the possibility to take their kingdom to war against another ... or create an era of peace with laws that strictly prohibit attacking other players. Another interesting feature is that there is no 'respawn' option for creatures. You must 're-plant' any creature that is destroyed ... if you don't, they'll become extinct, for good. Wakfu is a unique MMORPG that offers enchanting graphics (as you can see in the screen shots), along with a rich, deep, and very fun gameplay experience.

Skyforge's gameplay is also unique for an MMORPG since it offers lots of action and is very dynamic. Similar to traditional third person beat 'em up games, you can unlock abilities bit by bit as you play. During your adventures, you'll fight against both terrifying bosses and hordes of smaller enemies. You can face all these challenges by yourself or in the online multiplayer mode. Here, you and the other players will be able to collaborate, but will each play as the same character. Skyforge is a very good MMORPG that adds some new elements to the genre. The game's story and design, which mix science fiction, epic fantasy, and Ancient Rome, make Skyforge strikingly original. And not to mention that the graphics are amazing.

Wildstar Reloaded is an MMORPG set in a futuristic universe where different alien races live together and fight for the secrets of a recently discovered planet: Nexus. This planet, filled with incredible sci-fi locations, is where most of the action takes place. You can choose from six character classes and eight races. The game is divided in two sides: The Exiles, a group of mercenaries recently arrived to Nexus in search for a new home; and The Domain, a powerful empire that claims the land as its rightful legacy. There are four different races on each side. As usual in this genre, each class has a different style of play, and all of them complement each other. This means if your character is a warrior, you should probably make friends with a doctor or wizard, and vice versa. The combat system in Wildstar Reloaded is also very similar to that of other games in the genre, especially other NCSOFT titles like Guild Wars 2. Each of your powers has a 'cooldown' time, with the most powerful ones taking the longest to recharge. At the technical level the game is pretty flexible: if you have a powerful computer you can play with amazing graphics, but even if your machine is more modest you can still enjoy the game perfectly well. Wildstar Reloaded is a fun MMORPG and even if it doesn't offer a particularly original concept or setting, it still presents quite an entertaining gaming experience.

The combat system, in addition, is very dynamic. Despite being a role-playing game, Fallen Earth offers game mechanics that are at once direct and entertaining. As a result, your character may not survive if you throw him or her hastily into action, without taking necessary precautions such as going out well-equipped and, if possible, going out in the company of your own clan. Fallen Earth is a MMORPG that is particularly interesting for fans of franchises like Fallout, since the post-apocalyptic setting, as well as other elements of the game, remind you very much of said saga.

The remaining players will see the action in third person, controlling a single character on the battlefield and choosing from several classes, each with different skills. Savage XR is incontestably an original project that unifies two completely different genres, adding features from RPGs, such as leveling-up of characters, specialized classes, and even the social interaction that you'd find in an MMORPG.
