Sacred Line is a first person horror adventure game where players control Ellen, a detective who heads into an abandoned cabin in the middle of a forest after receiving an anonymous phone call from someone who promises her some information about the disappearance of her sister. This is the start of a first-person horror adventure game along the lines of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, in which players have to pick up objects and solve puzzles using a system of realistic game physics. All this takes place while you are being stalked by... a strange presence. One of the most striking things about Sacred Line is its graphics. The game uses a largely black and white palette, with occasional flashes of red. This makes the game extremely creepy, and you will be on edge during the whole game due to the many scares that await you. Sacred Line is a first person horror game with excellent graphics and very interesting mechanics. The story might not be particularly original, but it will definitely keep you very entertained and quite scared.

Once Upon An Apocalypse is a survival adventure inspired by the old Lucas Arts classics, and is in many respects reminiscent of the great Spanish title Gods Will Be Watching. The main difference is that instead of being set in the future, this game puts players in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The gameplay is simple: you have to carry out a series of tasks every day in order to help your group survive. Initially you only have four survivors, but as you send people to look for more, you can increase this number. Despite some conceptual similarities, Once Upon An Apocalypse is far less complex than Gods Will Be Watching on every level. Failing the mission is a lot more difficult, and in fact, many variables are not as important as in the Deconstructeam game. Once Upon An Apocalypse is an interesting game with a nice retro look, which offers a somewhat repayable experience of about fifteen minutes, in which players can try out different options.

Wizards Spell is a graphic adventure game where you have to find hidden objects, travel through perfectly hand-drawn scenes, and advance through a story full of magic and mystery. The story is focused on the curse that an evil wizard has cast upon a small town, and your goal is to dispel it so the inhabitants can go back to their normal lives. Fortunately, the main character has alchemy skills that will help him with this task. The gameplay is really simple: you have to move the cursor all over the scenes to find different hidden items, which you need for creating potions or moving on to next scene. Of course, you also have an inventory to help you solve certain puzzles. Wizards Spell is a 'hidden object' game that features an interesting story and beautiful graphics. Plus, like all games by GameTOP, it's entirely free.

The Burrow is an interactive experience where you begin an adventure under a tree and slowly work your way up until you reach the top and then outer space. In the first part of The Burrow, where you climb up the tree, there are almost no available interactions. You can only move the camera to look around you while you go up. In the second part, after you go into a weird hole at the top of the tree, you reach outer space and can finally start moving. In this part of the game you can travel from one asteroid to the other, although you never know exactly what for. After exploring for a long time, you'll notice that some asteroids have more holes and butterflies that disappear if you get too close. If you manage to catch one, you'll get a little surprise. The Burrow is a rather strange interactive experience that's not exactly fun, but can be quite stimulating. And the graphics are excellent.

The Note is an interactive experience in which players can control a mysterious person who doesn't know anything - neither where they are nor what their circumstances are. In theory, the game is a playable experiment in poetry and narrative that tries to affect players' feelings. In practice, however, all you have to do is run around while you read some verses on the screen and listen to a voice that is speaking to you. It may seem overly simple, but The Note has two different endings. The first, and most basic, ends with the death of your character, which will happen if you only walk in a straight line. To achieve the second ending, you need to pay closer attention... and you may be surprised at what happens. The Note is a minimalist interactive experience that draws players in with its beautiful graphics and words. Its biggest problem is that it's very short, and you may be done with it in as little as five minutes.

Yume Nikki 3D is a 3D version of Yume Nikki, the hugely popular psychological horror adventure that, despite having a number of features common to RPGs, actually offers an experience closer to the graphical exploration games. In Yume Nikki 3D, players take on the role of Madotsuki, a youngster who hardly ever leaves the house and spends all her time watching TV and playing video games. However, every time she falls asleep, she suffers from some very strange nightmares. So every day, you can watch TV, which has no effect on Madotsuki, or play video games, which turns out pretty boring, or better, take her off to bed to sleep… at which point the nightmares kick in. When you are sleeping, Madotsuki's tiny apartment becomes a world of weird settings where you can explore the troubled mind of your protagonist (or so it seems). Within each of the more than twenty 'worlds' you can visit during the game, it is possible to buy an 'effect' that lets you move forward in the game and learn a little more about what is happening. However, the reality is that you never have a definite explanation; instead everything is a free interpretation of the player. Yume Nikki 3D is a really disturbing horror game that has thousands of followers and fans for a good reason: it offers an interesting gaming experience that goes far beyond its somewhat neglected graphics.

173 is a first-person horror adventure that begins with you stranded on a beach, in the middle of the night, with only the light of a nearby bonfire to guide you. Your objective is to survive whatever it is that is inhabiting the island. One element that sets 173 apart from other games of the same genre is that it has a blink button - and you have to press it. Unfortunately, blinking makes it easier for 'the creature', whatever it is, to hunt and kill you. You would be wise to keep yourself surrounded by light at all time. You can start by using an ember from the bonfire, but as you advance, you'll need to find other sources of light. Exploring in the dark is not at all easy. Not only is it difficult to move around - blinking constantly - you also have to take into account the tension produced by knowing that you could die at any moment. 173 is a truly terrifying first-person adventure that will keep you holding your breath. The best part is, although it has some things in common, it's not just another remake of Slender.

Beacon is a point and click graphic adventure game in which you control a rescue drone on a spaceship that goes out of the way while landing, and ends up in the bottom of the ocean. When you start the adventure, the spaceship pilot is hurt and unconscious, and your mission is to save him. The spaceship won't be able to stand the pressure of the water, so you have to act quickly and stop both the pilot and yourself, the rescue bot, from dying. To solve this problem you have to use everything you have at hand. You can pick up things like the astronaut's helmet and a simple cup, and try to use them with other items. Some of the puzzles can be complicated, although generally the difficult thing is to find them in the middle of such a dark space. Beacon is a traditional graphic adventure. Although it's really short (just 15 minutes), it has interesting puzzles and spectacular graphics. The ambiance is also really great.

Olav and the Lute is a point and click graphic adventure where you play as a mysterious character whose only way of interacting with the world around him is through the music that he plays with his lute. In many ways, the game is reminiscent of the great 'Loom' from Lucas Arts. Both gameplay as well as the main character and some aspects of the levels are either similar or even direct references to that classic graphic adventure. Your objective is to find out what to do with the loom of destiny, and how to do it. To do so, you'll need to learn how to play different melodies, which you can then write down in your music book. Each time you learn a melody, you also get its opposite. For example, when you learn the 'poison' melody, you'll learn the 'healing' melody at the same time, as it's just the first melody played backwards. Olav and the Lute has excellent retro graphics that have been created with a certain taste and elegance that is rare to see. This is an outstanding independent graphic adventure. While it's not especially long, the puzzle design and overall feel make it a truly unique game.

This story, like many other similar graphic adventures, begins like this, with players having to get out of the room at all costs. You have to pick up objects in the room, piece them together in order to create new objects, and ultimately do whatever it takes to get out of there. The solution to Isaac's problem is more obvious than you might think. Even though the way out is a little bit complex, you won't need to use a screwdriver (this is a clue!). You just need to look around and use anything you find in the room to your advantage. If time runs out while you're still in a room, darkness engulfs everything and you have to start again. To get out, you'll need to follow instructions from a mysterious voice on a mysterious radio - and do what he says as fast as you can. The best part of Only If is, without a doubt, the graphics. The Terrible Old Man is a traditional point-and-click graphic adventure inspired by the short story of the same name by H.P. Lovecraft. In the bar, by chance, he hears that an old ship captain lives just outside town and has a huge treasure hidden in his house.
