Dungeon Crawl Tile Version is a visually improved version of one of the best roguelikes that currently exists. It should be required for any fan of the genre. Isaac's Odyssey is a short graphic adventure where players control Isaac, a young college student who wants to go to a huge party but locks himself in his room when the door handle breaks. This story, like many other similar graphic adventures, begins like this, with players having to get out of the room at all costs. You have to pick up objects in the room, piece them together in order to create new objects, and ultimately do whatever it takes to get out of there. The solution to Isaac's problem is more obvious than you might think. Even though the way out is a little bit complex, you won't need to use a screwdriver (this is a clue!). You just need to look around and use anything you find in the room to your advantage. Isaac's Odyssey is a traditional point and click adventure that, even though it's short (it lasts about 10 minutes), gives you a fun story and some very charming pixellated graphics.

Blockscape is a free construction game made in purest Minecraft style; it is based on the great game created by Mojang, and offers a relatively similar experience, only much more beautiful. Blockscape, like all the other 'sandbox' block games, lets you modify the scenery to your will by taking away blocks from the ground (sand), the walls (stones), and even the trees (wood); to then use them in creating your own structures. The main difference is that Blockscape's creation mode is much more versatile. Even though Blockscape will have more game modes in the future, the only one currently available in the development phase is 'survival mode', which lets you start off on a desert island to then let loose your imagination by taking out blocks and putting them somewhere else. One of the most impressive aspects of Blockscape is its graphics, which contrast quite a bit with the other Minecraft 'clones' out there. The water, the sky, and the ground and wall textures all have amazing detail. Blockscape is a very fun 'sandbox' that apart from standing out with its graphics, also comes with a gameplay that is slightly different to the usual in so far as block removal and placement is concerned.

The High Road is a totally different experience from what most players are used to seeing. Its story, protagonist, and gameplay are a breath of fresh air for the RPG genre.

In fact, its good graphic performance earned this title the Best Art award at the VII EVAD Game Jam. To move the cat around, just hold down the left and right arrows on your keyboard while pressing the space bar to make various jumps. Keep in mind that one of our main goals will be to collect all the fish bones that we find on our way. That is why we need to enter even the least visible corners to get all the rewards we can. But the road this cat will travel inside Athame will be anything but smooth. Throughout this adventure, we will also encounter some enemies, like spiders or bats, that will try to stop the animal's progress. In this title, we will not have seven lives, and therefore it will be essential to pay close attention to each scenario to avoid falling into the void —although the dim light does not help us either. Athame features beautiful graphics and a very simple control system that will help us to play entertaining rounds. Saving the locked souls while trying to find the witch, who takes care of this cute cat, will lead us to exciting levels and elements to discover.

That being said, you only have two action buttons (attack and defend), so that comes as a limitation to the game. CraftFighters is a very fun fighting game that, in addition to its exciting gameplay, has excellent graphics that perfectly recreate all the Minecraft characters with a cartoonish appearance.

Transphoria is a first person shooter action game on which you can play both single player and co-op modes using the internet; in it players must go underground to finish off a mutant threat that lives there. The game follows in the steps of the majority of FPS games. In other words, the action almost always takes place in hall-like environments in which mutants constantly attack you. Fortunately, although the mutants are very resistant and quite numerous, they don’t have weapons, so you have a bit of an advantage there. You also have several different weapons at your disposal. You start off with an automatic shotgun, but it doesn’t take long for you to find a machine gun, or a plasma shooter which you have to be very careful with. In spite of being an independent and free game, Transphoria, comes with great graphics. Enemy animations are certainly not up to standard, but their modeling is quite outstanding. Transphoria is a good action game that can be tremendously entertaining on co-op. The only downside is that it only comes with three different levels on which to shoot down mutants.

Lonely Knight is an action platformer where you guide a brave knight armed with a sword and arrows to a strange creature's lair. In fact, this creature is an evil cloud that throws ice shards. On your (brief) adventure, you'll have to deal with four different types of enemies. Though they may seem relatively harmless, you'll need to be careful thanks to the constant spores. The strength of Lonely Knight, which is a very short game, is there is more than one way to beat the second and longest level. That means you can easily play the game more than once. The fight against the final boss, the aforementioned evil ice-flinging cloud, is also pretty interesting. To defeat it, you'll have to use its own attacks against it. Lonely Knight is an entertaining action platformer that could be even better if it had a few more levels.

An excellent PvP game that takes the magic of League of Legends to the world of cards.

You can use the shadows to hide, and you must take lots of care with your movements. Rogue Assassin has a random level generator... but no final level. This means that you will be trying to reach the king forever, but you will never get to kill him. Despite this, the gameplay is fun enough to make a trip into the dungeon worthwhile.

The gameplay combines elements from 2D platformers with puzzle and action touches. Sometimes you have to jump from platform to platform, dodging obstacles, while other times you'll use a sword to kill the bad guys. And every now and then you'll have to solve puzzles. Graphically, Darkened Light has a very simple aesthetic. Both the characters and the levels are recreated pixel by pixel, in a style similar at certain moments to manga or anime. The style doesn't have many bells and whistles and isn't especially gorgeous, but it's nicely done and consistent. Darkened Light is a fun action platformer that, on top of having a quite attractive gameplay, also has a good storyline. Not the very best game of its kind, but a good representative of the genre.

Flood the Chamber is a 2D platform game where you control a character who has to escape the depths of a dungeon that's started to flood. Players face a huge and trap-filled dungeon that does not forgive a single mistake. You need a lot of speed as you go up, since the water level rises slowly but steadily, and will kill you if you get covered in water, meaning you have to start over from the beginning. Apart from speed, Flood the Chamber requires a good dose of skills and accuracy, since most of the jumps are really hard to make. So much so, that one of the first games that this reminds you of is the (terribly difficult) I Wanna Be the Guy. Flood the Chamber only has one, immense, level, which you have to beat in a single sitting. That said, the game can last a lot longer than you think, since its difficulty level will probably make you start over several times.

Super Product Line is a two-dimensional horror game with an 8-bit aesthetic that recalls survival horror classics like Resident Evil, all in the style of old Nintendo Entertainment System games. Super Product Line also has some humorous elements that make it totally unique. At the beginning of the game, you choose between two different characters that have pretty different characteristics. Naturally, the things that set them apart are quite absurd, for example one of the characters thinks that the music group A-HA is overrated, while the other would spend tons of money at the hair salon. Whoever you choose, your adventure starts in the same place: the basement of an office building. Your mission is to escape alive, which won't be all that easy, thanks to a series of creatures roaming the halls that will end your life pretty quickly if you give them a chance. Super Product Line is more an adventure game than an action game, since you'll need to use your head to solve all of the complicated situations you'll find yourself in, and manipulate different objects together to get specific results.

We're talking about characters like Indiana Jones, Guybrush Threepwood, Roger Wilco, and Larry himself. Each character has their own unique moves that include four special attacks, like Indiana Jones' whip, Guybrush's punch, or the Purple Tentacle's bite (Day of the Tentacle). You can play Quest Fighter in single player mode (against the computer with three difficulty levels), or against another player (using the same keyboard). The graphics are especially excellent because both the characters and levels are taken from their original games. Some of them are very emblematic and will make you shed a tear out of nostalgia. Quest Fighter isn't the best fighting game, but it does brings back more memories than most other free independent games.
