At the beginning of the adventure, you emerge from your nuclear shelter and find yourself in a devastated world where mutant zombies will be the least of your problems. It's not just that there are more dangerous creatures in the world, but also that you will face more immediate problems like hunger and exhaustion. The gameplay for Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead can vary a lot depending on the type of characters you create and the circumstances that arise during the adventure (random or user-selected). You can try to go to the forest and live far away from all of these problems... or go to town to try to find supplies... or even construct a fortress to protect you from attackers. Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead is a wonderful, gigantic role-playing game, whose complexity leaves many other similar games in the dust. The only problem is that, just like with many other 'roguelike' gmaes, the graphics are very basic and are made up entirely of ASCII characters. If you can get past this setback, you will find yourself in front of an almost never-ending game.

Nethack is a roguelike where you have to delve deep into a randomly generated dungeon to find Yendor's amulet, which can grant your hero immortality. Achieving this is not easy, though. The dungeons are always randomly generated, always different, and feature 50 different levels. Each of these levels includes lots of enemies and traps that can kill your character, and when this happens it's game over – no reloading the game, no reviving the hero. When creating your character you can choose from many different classes, like the warrior, barbarian, mage, thief, or monk; and you can also choose the race, gender, and name. On the other hand, if you don't want to worry about any of that, you can generate a random character. It will probably die soon anyway.... Nethack didn't originally have a graphic environment, and was played exclusively with a text interface. Currently, though, you can activate pretty rudimentary graphics, which at least makes the game a little more accessible. Nethack is a difficult game, possibly one of the most difficult games in history. Getting all the commands you can give the character right is already a challenge in itself. But getting to level 50 alive is an almost impossible goal.

Brutal Doom is a mod for the original Doom that, after three years of intense development, now offers a much bloodier and more refined experience (especially with regard to the shooting mechanism) compared to the normal game. You'll notice the increased goriness of Doom not just in the increased blood splatters on the walls and the bodies of enemies, but also in the new options that allow you to shoot people in the head or tear your enemies apart with bullets. Also, almost all of your opponents will now have completely new death animations. Doom's normal shooting system, which didn't use the mouse by default, has been updated so that it does. Although the best part is that the weapons have been completely remodeled so that no one weapon is significantly better than the others. So, bold as a brass and never lazy, he decides to mow down all the demons in order to have one last chance to destroy his porn. The game play is not particularly hard or complex. You just have to keep going through all the levels in a straight line, jumping from platform to platform and killing what enemy you see. To do this you will have several weapons, such as a shotgun. The adventure is pretty short, what with some skill it is quite possible to finish it in less than fifteen minutes, although it is still challenging enough so that any platform game fan will still enjoy it. Destroy the Porn is a very entertaining platform game that, in spite of its slightly 'off' graphics, is still able to keep the player hooked throughout the whole adventure.

A Flipping Good Time is a 2D platform game in which you'll have to guide a kid through a series of levels filled with dangers (prickles, mostly) either by foot or riding a cart. Gameplay follows the classic platform principles: jump and avoid traps which could kill you. The twist is that most of the levels are filled with prickles both on the ground and on the ceiling, so you'll have to use objects to change the direction of gravity. The game has fourteen different levels which, thanks to the difficulty of some of them, will keep you entertained for hours. The hardest part actually won’t be finishing a level, but rather getting all of the hidden gems in the level which you’ll need in order to unlock hidden levels. The game’s graphics, although not too flashy, are still quite good. Both the main character and the levels are perfectly recreated in two dimensions. A Flipping Good Time is a very entertaining game which will keep you glued to the keyboard (or control, as it supports the Xbox 360 controls) for a good number of hours.
