Desktop Dungeons is a simple dungeon crawler in which you will delve into hundreds of randomly generated dungeons to loot them while avoiding numerous enemies which inhabit them from finishing you off. Even though gameplay has a lot to do with the more traditional RPG's in which you simply have to kill off enemies in order to go up levels, it also has some puzzle elements that turn it into a completely different experience. Every time you move to a tile which you've never stepped on before you recover manna and life, so knowing where and when to move proves fundamental in some levels. This explains why the game is, at times, reminiscent of a great puzzle with magicians, animals, bad guys and swords. Desktop Dungeons is a very entertaining game which, in spite of having very simple graphics, is extremely addictive. Hours and hours of fun for fans of the genre.

Kirby the Dream Battle is a 2D fight game, in which players take control of some of the legendary characters from the Kirby universe... although not Kirby himself, who is currently missing from the game. Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, Golem and Mr. Frosty are all among the characters that are available from the start. You can choose any of them to play in the different game modes inside Kirby the Dream Battle. These include history, versus (against a friend) and training. Each of the characters has their own special attack, which is taken straight from the Kirby games. In addition, and to add a little bit of color, you can find Mega Man among the hidden characters, and use him to perform some of the most devastating attacks in the game. In Kirby the Dream Battle’s story mode, you’ll also run into Popon, who acts as the 'final boss' in this version of the game. Kirby the Dream Battle is a fun 2D fighting game that looks great. It is a real gem for lovers of the Kirby series, which has been made possible by MUGEN, the versatile fighting game engine.

The Quake Army Knife (QuArK) is an editor that allows you to modify Quake, as well as many other games that use engines that are similar or compatible to those that id Software used to create the Quake saga. Basically, this program supports 41 different games developed with 5 different engines. Of course, it's also fully compatible with all the available expansions and mods for these games. So what exactly can you do with The Quake Army Knife (QuArK)? Well, a lot of things. This program lets you directly and intuitively edit maps, as well as the models for characters and creatures. It also lets you import your own sounds and textures. Best of all, the software lets you create and modify .pak and .pk3 files; you can also import .bsp files to add, change, or delete entities within these files. If you're wondering what .pak or .pk3 files are, they're extensions for some of the files used by Quake, Hexen, Quake 3, and Half-Life, among others. The list of video games that you can edit with The Quake Army Knife (QuArK) is very extensive and grows longer with each new update. So far it includes Quake 1, Hexen 2, Quake 2, Heretic 2, Half-Life, Sin, Kingpin, Soldier of Fortune, Quake 3: Arena, Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, Half-Life 2, Daikatana, Portal, and Counter-Strike, among others. This means that, if you have any of these video games, you can edit and modify all the levels and models as you wish. The Quake Army Knife (QuArK) is a free and open source software, thanks to which fans of first-person shooters can get creative by creating their own levels, characters, and so on. In general, the program is pretty easy to use, although it also offers lots of tutorials and explanatory videos on its official website, thanks to which you can learn how to do anything you want.

Akuji the Demon is a platform game which is similar to of the Classic Super Metroid or Castlevania SOTN, in which you have to collect new skills and items to make progress in your adventure. At first you jump in the normal way, but as you progress through the dungeons and different scenarios of the game, you will unlock skills such as running, throwing fireballs or jumping further that will enable you to go further. In our journey you will encounter many different types of enemies, which include fights against the head honchos of the final phase. In addition, the wide variety of settings and types of situations make the game, which is not particularly long more interesting. Akuji the Demon is a highly recommended game for anyone looking for a relatively short and fun title (although you'll need at least a couple of hours)

Avengers Vs X-Men is a fighting game based on MUGEN that allows you to fight as a part of one of these mythical groups of superheroes in intense battles, just like in the last Marvel comics crossover. Beast, Black Widow, Deadpool, Colossus, Iron Man, Captain America, Emma Frost, Magneto, Cyclops, and Hulk are just some of the more than twenty characters that you can control in this game. All of them have been carefully recreated with an impressive list of moves that in some cases includes more than ten types of special attacks. As opposed to other, lower-quality MUGEN titles, Avengers Vs X-Men comes with a short tutorial at the beginning of arcade mode that will help you learn, in less than five minutes, all of the basic concepts that you'll need to get the most out of the game. If that weren't enough, the game's arcade mode comes with a storyline that helps you to discover just why it is that all of your favorite heroes are fighting each other, presented in comic form. In addition to arcade mode, you'll find various other playing modes included in the game, like survival mode or classic, where you can play alone or cooperatively. Avengers Vs X-Men is by far one of the best free MUGEN fighting games that we've come across. Although it doesn't have as large a cast of characters as some other titles, they have been chosen and designed much more thoughtfully, and it shows. This game is an absolute delight for Marvel fans.

Laxius Force is an entertaining game that, despite having an average character design, manages to keep you hooked for hours.

A Nation of Wind is a mixture of what seem to be very different genres. There is arcade blaster and real time strategy, and they come together to make a whole new and different concept capable of surprising even the most seasoned of gamers. Your objective in most missions is to conquer the different obelisks scattered around the map. To do so, you must take to the skies with your ship, destroy all enemies in your way and create temples beside the obelisks. You can also create lots of structures in A Nation of Wind that can be used to provide the different resources you need to build the coveted temples or perform magic. The problem is that while you do this, some enemies will try to attack you. Luckily, you have a good arsenal of weapons to defend yourself with. The graphics in A Nation of Wind are simply lovely. With a pixelated look, reminiscent of the late eighties, the game is able to create a living world where you can happily spend your free time. A Nation of Wind is a strategy and action game whose gameplay and entertaining approach are as original as they are effective. You will quickly become hooked on this excellent free game without even realizing it.

8 Bit Killer

8 Bit Killer is a first-person action game set in a dystopian future where humanity is at the edge of extinction due to an alien race commanded by an evil giant brain. But the game's story is the least of it. The most important part is wild action that is sure to remind you of the classic game Wolfenstein 3D. Armed to the teeth, you will explore different areas killing any enemy unlucky or stupid enough to get in your way. The game's graphics are what really make it stand out. As the title suggests, it emulates 8 bit Nintendo games, with just a few pixels and a color palette that would fit right in with that earlier era. All together, it's really quite charming. 8 Bit Killer is a fun action game with a fun story, fun gameplay, fun graphic design, and a fun soundtrack - pure 8 bit entertainment. And best of all: like all games from Locomalito, this one is completely free.

Dark Disciples II is a classic-style 2D RPG set in an epic fantasy world known as the Eastern Lands. You start the adventure locked inside a slave camp, which you'll have to escape from in order to start your real adventure. In the beginning of Dark Disciples II, you have to create a new character, putting different points into the skills and abilities that you prefer. This means you don't have to choose a class per se, but instead will create it as you play. Although you start the story locked inside a prison, you'll eventually visit a lot of different locations throughout the game (which can last for more than 20 hours): from the jungles of the Eastern Islands to the deserts in the South. The combat system, as in almost all similar RPGs, is strictly turn-based. Your chance to hit or miss your opponent, and how much damage you inflict, is always determined by your stats and the equipment you have. The inventory system in Dark Disciples II is also pretty traditional. You can kit yourself out with armors, weapons, talismans, and other objects. There are also potions, money, etc. Dark Disciples II is a traditional RPG and although it doesn't have particularly striking graphics, its storyline and gameplay compensate for it.

Hollywood Monsters 2 is a really good Point&Click game, with a good story and good graphics. If you like this kind of games, you'll have fun.

Guardian of Paradise is a game in pure Zelda style where you take on the role of Tela, a boy embarking on a mysterious, danger-filled adventure in search of a cure for his sister's strange illness. Just like in any Zelda game, the action in Guardian of Paradise comes from exploring scenes full of enemies and the occasional puzzle. Luckily, your hero is accompanied by his trusty sword and some elemental creatures that allow him to use special abilities. As you progress through Guardian of Paradise, the adventure starts to become more and more complex. What at first seemed like a simple trip through the forest soon becomes an epic adventure taking you along tons of different areas - always, of course, with the goal of saving Tela's sister. Guardian of Paradise is a surprisingly good Zelda clone that lasts quite a long time and has charming graphics that could have come from any Super Nintendo game. There's plenty of variety so you never risk getting bored.

Soundless Mountain II is a 'demake' of Silent Hill 2 where you can relive everything from one of the most popular horror games for Playstation 2, only this time with the graphics and gameplay of a Super Nintendo title. The game starts exactly like it does in the original, with your protagonist in a bathroom next to the highway, just about to enter Silent Hill (Soundless Mountain). The difference is that this time, instead of playing the entire story, the game will suddenly stop in the middle. The gameplay is as simple as you might expect: the arrow keys move your character from side to side, one button lets you interact with everything in the setting and attack, another button changes objects/weapons, and a third button accesses your inventory. Soundless Mountain II is a very slow game that will definitely dazzle fans of the Silent Hill saga. But if you don't understand all the references, it'll probably leave you out in the cold.

Pequepon Magical Blocks is a remake of Nintendo's classic Sokoban. In it your mission consists of guiding the adorable Pequepon through nine different worlds where your sole aim is rescuing the little pequepons who've been kidnapped by an evil witch. Each of the worlds has 10 different levels, giving you a total of 90 stages where you have to push tons of boxes in order to open up a path. That said, you always have to move carefully and not block your path, since it's very probable that you'll do this on accident if you're not careful. As you advance through the game the difficulty will increase. Luckily, the game gives you a series of presents every five levels to skip any stage where you're particularly stuck. Also, since some levels may last a long time, you can save the game in the middle and return to it later on. Graphically, Pequepon Magical Blocks is really adorable. The character and level designs are colorful and the pixelated style will delight lovers of all things retro. Pequepon Magical Blocks is a very entertaining puzzle game to test the intelligence and ability of anyone who dares to play the game and dedicate enough time to get to the most complex parts.

Action Fist is a classic platformer in which you control an intrepid adventurer whose favorite scarf has been stolen by the 'bad guys,' who have also kidnapped his girlfriend. The gameplay is classic: you move in two dimensions, shoot with one button and jump with another. In addition, you can push off the walls to do double and triple jumps. One of the video game's most interesting features is the possibility of having two people play at the same time. In this mode, each player manages one character, and both need to recover the protagonist's scarf. Action Fist isn't particularly long, but it is very fun. You will find lots of different enemies, weapons, and power-ups that make the adventure quite varied and enjoyable. In addition, once the game is over, you have more characters to play.

During the game you must hack your rival’s computers, steal money from bank accounts to improve your own system, piece together a huge and intricate puzzle, and of course, find out what happened. All this is done from a very simple interface that resembles a MS-DOS command based console. In fact, most of the gameplay consists of writing commands into the console. Hacker Evolution is a distinctive game with some very unusual gameplay. However, despite having a fairly steep learning curve, it turns out to be a lot of fun.

Chrono Rage is a fun spaceship arcade game with a retro esthetic where you have to face hundreds of enemy ships while you plow through space shooting non-stop. The game includes a number of different modes: survival mode, where you have to hold out for as long as possible as endless hordes of enemies attack you; challenge mode, which is divided into twenty levels with different scenes and enemies; and bonus modes. While you can play the game using your keyboard, it's designed to be used with an Xbox360 control, which will allow you to get the most out of the game as you try to beat the more than twenty different challenges that are hidden in the game. Chrono Rage is a very fun, addictive arcade game with excellent graphics. You have to at least try it.

Fortunately, you have help from the king himself, who constantly follows you around and can help you jump higher and reach more difficult platforms. The things that stand out about the game are the graphics, which will remind you of happy times playing classic 8-bit games, and the soundtrack, which includes some quite good songs. A Game With A Kitty 2 Darkside Adventures is a really fun platformer that's sure to please older gamers and bring back memories of playing video games as a kid.

Super Aerial Bros is a very simple arcade game where you control the flight Mario and Luigi as they soar through the Mushroom World's sky after being shot out of a cannon. Your goal is to go as far as possible while collecting as many coins as you can. Then, when you get to the end and Mario falls to the ground, you can post your score to the official website and compete against the rest of the players around the world. The problem is that you will run into all sorts of obstacles and enemies along the way. These range from plants that come out of the green pipes to flying toads. Everything that you encounter in your path, except coins or stars, will hurt you. And you only have three hearts before you fall to the ground. Super Aerial Bros is simple and fun, and it is ideal for short games. The best thing about it is that you can either play alone or with a friend on the same computer, as one of you controls Mario and the other, Luigi.

NEMO SPACE FIGHTER is an addictive action and adventure game where your goal is to drive a spaceship through space for as long as you can. But it won't be as easy as it seems at first glance, as enemies and threats appear when you least expect it. Once the game starts, you will see NEMO SPACE FIGHTER's incredible retro-style graphics. Best of all are the controls, which are accessible for any player as all you have to do is click on the direction you want the spaceship to go. Unlike what you might find in other games of the same genre, NEMO SPACE FIGHTER doesn't have countdowns or time limits, so you can enjoy its playability without any kind of time pressure. The most important thing is to keep your health level (shown in the bottom left corner) in mind at all times. NEMO SPACE FIGHTER is an interesting alternative to the classic shooting games, where you will test your ability to dodge every threat while shooting from the best places to go as far as possible.

Polar is a unique game where you have to show your abilities and reflexes, using just one button. Its creator defines the game as a sort of 'Super Hexagon parody.' The gameplay is very simple. You control a spaceship that automatically moves in circles. It's your job to guide the ship through an asteroid field, coming at you in a series of different patterns. The one and only button lets you change directions and try to dodge the asteroids. The game, which was created in just one week, doesn't actually let you die. This means the only penalty for hitting the asteroids is that you can't move on to the next pattern. If you play well and dodge all the obstacles, the asteroids take on new shapes, becoming more and more complex and psychedelic. Polar is a strange game that has a simple soundtrack and even simpler, but addicting gameplay. If only it offered more of a challenge, like the ability to die, for example, it would be a fantastic game.

Super Vampire Ninja Zero is a fighting game in which you will be at the controls of Mina, a charming but deadly ninja,and you will have to go face to face with dozens of enemies of all shapes and colors. The gameplay is fun and gives rise to many combinations of keys. Mina may be jumping, making fast and strong attacks, special moves, fast slides and blocks. Furthermore, if you can string together several consecutive attacks, you can make combos which will make more damage. The normal gameplay is to stay on stage and face the enemies that are coming in waves, becoming more and more difficult. Super Vampire Ninja Zero is fun and has very nice graphics that fit perfectly with the concept of the game. It is also a download time of less than 6 Mb, so it will not take even a couple of minutes to download and start playing.

Commander Wars is an open source turn-based strategy game that tries to translate the experience of playing the legendary Advance Wars saga to computers with Windows. And it achieves its goal with flying colors. This game features gameplay that's practically identical to the gameplay that made the Intelligent Systems saga so popular. You'll find tons of options when you create a new game. Creating a new scenario includes many variables, from randomizing the terrain's layout to choosing the number of opponents controlled by the AI that you'll fight against. So you can play either a 1v1 duel against the AI or a battle against four generals, each of which is represented by a different color. If you've ever played a game in the Advance Wars saga, gameplay in Commander Wars will be familiar to you. Your objective at the beginning of each game is always the same: capture the closest buildings, which will provide you with resources. With these resources, you can recruit more and more troops, which you can use to capture more land while also attacking your enemies. The battles between units also follow the same structure as Advance Wars. The success or failure of your attacks depends on several factors, including the position of your units (for example, if they're on higher ground, they'll be more effective) and their type (for example, mortars are especially effective against tanks). If you can keep all this in mind, you'll improve your chances of winning. Commander Wars is an excellent adaptation of one of the most beloved turn-based strategy sagas. The game is free and open source, supports mods, and features beautiful and colorful graphics which are openly inspired by the saga.

FlappyFish is a simple arcade game inspired by Flappy Bird. In this game, you need to try to get as far as possible while passing between the different blocks scattered over each level. Unlike in the original Flappy Bird, in FlappyFish the blocks sometimes move or have different openings. Luckily, you won't just have a button for flying, but also one for pecking. That makes it easier to control your character. The best part about FlappyFish, aside from its addictive gameplay, is its awesome graphics. And you may notice that the game uses many of the same elements as Phil Fish's brilliant game Fez. FlappyFish is another Flappy Bird clone that came into being thanks to Flappy Jam, an independent video game festival in which many developers have created games to pay homage to Dong Nguyen's flappy sensation.

Full Moon Rising is a platformer where you play a friendly gentleman who has to travel through his city's dangerous streets in search of an object his wife has requested. That said, getting this object will mean traversing a ton of streets full of dangers like vagabonds who throw bottles and other trash, electric eels that jump out of different puddles around the city, and bats. Luckily, despite things being very complicated on the way there because your character won't have anything to defend himself, the way back will be much easier. The game gets easier because your character will be transformed into a dangerous guard dog. And of course, once you become a dog you'll be able to bite your enemies and return the attacks you received a few minutes earlier. In fact, you'll be able to kill dozens of vagabonds once you become a dog. Full Moon Rising is a platformer with a retro aesthetic that, despite being short, is a very fun game. Also, its difficulty is very well-adjusted to offer a good challenge that won't end up frustrating you.

When you start the game, you have to choose your character. Depending on the character you will have different features and spells during the game. Each time you win a match, you earn points and experience, really valuable for future matches and to increase your power and possibilities to power up your character. Appart from the campaign mode where you'll be able to enjoy the experience on your own, Sylvenia offers an exciting multiplayer mode where you'll face people from all around the world. Sylvenia is a very amusing game based on a very interesting idea. If you like games like Magic or Spectromancer or Poker, you'll love Sylvenia.

Crawle is a mix between a 'dungeon crawler' and a 'sandbox', in which you play a character who must deal with all the problems that any normal person would face being lost in the woods for a long time. These problems, as is logical, begin with ensuring the very survival of the protagonist. That is, we have to be careful that the protagonist does not go hungry and thirsty, conserves energy with plenty of rest, and keeps their sanity intact. The life bar, which is very important for survival, is affected by all the elements that could affect their health. This means that if you want to stand a chance when confronted by your enemies, you need to start in good physical condition. The world in which Crawle is set is fully dynamic and is one of the game´s main strengths. That is, trees can die during the adventure, animal carcasses will rot, and so on. Basically, any element in the game can be affected by the player. Crawle is a fun role-playing adventure game, in which survival is the main goal. You will need much more than a little food and drink to spend a few days on the move.
