Although the main point in Samurai Jazz is hand-to-hand combat itself, the game also makes room for some platform-style gameplay during certain parts where you’ll have to jump from side to side. Samurai Jazz is an entertaining action game that, thanks to its 8-bit look, will surely appeal to veteran gamers. On top of that, the combat system is as complicated as it is fun.

There are more than a ten different dungeons in Delve the Dungeon Crawler where you will find not only enemies, but also artifacts and objects for your heroes. As it's to be expected, if you use the best team you will have a significant advantage in the most difficult combats. Delve the Dungeon Crawler is an excellent dungeon crawler game that has rather clumsy graphics, though fans of the board game will love its enjoyable game mechanics.

When playing Risk, Fate and randomness are very important, but when you play OpenFracas, the victory when trying to conquer a territory is not decided by dices, but by the number of troops in the territory and the ones nearby. The result of the battle will be the result of adding and subtracting the defendant and attacker troops. If you don't have enough troops, you won't be able to attack. You can play OpenFracas versus up to six players, humans or controlled by the PC, individually or in teams. OpenFracas also includes a map generator that allows you to create a new map according to three different aspects: land, water and islands, and of course enlarge or reduce the size of the board. IF you want to play on real maps, it includes a world map and an Europe Map. The goal is to create a big Empire and conquer all the territories in the map. By the way, the music is really good.

Euthanasia is a first person action-adventure game, in which, despite the weaponry at your disposal, you will get plenty of frights thanks to its truly terrifying atmosphere.

The lead character is a sinister American football player that can use up too fifteen different weapons in order to face his enemies and completely crush them. In order to help yourself you can purchase new abilities and weapons, as well as use different 'power-ups'. The game comes with a handful of levels in which you will have to face up to seventeen different kinds of enemies, among which you will find a couple of more difficult and blood thirsty bosses than usual. The game's graphics, in spite of being simple, add much charm and are reminiscence of the amazing Castle Crashers. Nice designs, fluid animations, everything works perfectly in this department. Zombie Football Carnage is a very fun game which, apart from coming with a component for a long-lasting player, also offer an online classification chart which you can use to compare your scores to those of people all around the world.

The Chasm is a role-playing game with a turn-based combat system in which you control a young man who has fallen over a waterfall. Now, you have to try to escape from this dangerous chasm and avoid the enemies that are trying to kill you. In the beginning, you can only control the main character, Hank, who is armed with little more than a stick and his bare hands. After you play for some time, new friends will join you. The first one is your loyal dog, Smoke, and later on you'll meet new friends as you go. The combat system uses the traditional SRPG system. This means that you can move throughout the scenario in turns, selecting enemies that you want to attack. You attack first, and then your enemies attack. It's a simple and effective system. Each time you win a fight, you'll get experience points and will level up over time, improving your skills and abilities. In the beginning, you only fight birds and slime, but to face more dangerous enemies later in the game, leveling up is necessary. The Chasm is a charming role-playing game with strategy-based fights. The story is not that great, but it will keep you interested for a number of hours.

Legendary Wings is a spaceship arcade game where you have to move through a series of 2D scenarios controlling a spaceship that can destroy almost any enemy that comes its path. And there are lots of them. Throughout each level, you'll find dozens of different enemies and several types of weapons that you can use to fight them. For most of the time, you'll be fighting enemies and changing weapons, the effectiveness of which depends on the situation you're facing. That said, the most surprising thing in Legendary Wings is waiting at the end of each level, when you have to fight the respective final bosses. These come in all shapes and sizes (some are dinosaurs, others seem to be Evangelions or giant robots); they are a far greater challenge than normal enemies, and you need to use all your attack power against them. Legendary Wings is an outstanding spaceship arcade game. It doesn't have particularly good graphics, but it still offers a tremendously addictive traditional arcade experience.

As with the majority of games that use the MUGEN system, Neon Genesis Evangelion offers the Versus mode where two human players can play against each other. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a two-dimensional fighting game that will delight fans of the animated series, a 90s classic.

Excavatorrr 2 is a two-dimensional roguelike platform game where you have to dig as deep as you can in a randomly-generated mine while trying to collect as much gold as possible. You'll start up on the surface and use your pickaxe on blocks to begin your descent. Blocks of soil don't give you anything, but blocks containing gold gives you money. Other blocks, like those of stone, are impossible to break up. During your (typically short) adventure, you'll come face to face with tons of different enemies. Ghosts, for example, can become intangible for a few seconds, and therefore impervious to your attacks. Goblins, on the other hand, will attack you in a much more direct way. The levels in Excavatorrr 2 hold all kinds of interesting objects. Some can be used to activate special powers while others, like the coffins, can be kept in your backpack so that you can open them later on when you've found the correct key. Excavatorrr 2 is a difficult, addicting platform game.

Arvoesine is a platform game in two dimensions in which we have to lead a Roman legion through a number of levels as we confront different dangers. These threats will appear as different kinds of enemies (small blue creatures, plants and killer birds) or traps. Luckily your character has a life bar that will allow you to survive even the most hazardous situations. The artistic graphics seen in this game were inspired by the first Nintendo video game desktop, and even at low load of pixels, they are quite beautiful. Arvoesine is entertaining and short, and its five levels will give you a way to pass the time. Given this, it must be said that it is quite difficult.

Barbarium is an action platformer where you control a strange barbarian who's armed with a sword, a shield, and a light saber, just like in Star Wars. That's it. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where only the only survivors are poor old men, sensual women waiting to be rescued (which will help you progress), and of course plenty of enemies waiting to be annihilated. Barbarium is similar to games like Castlevania and Metroid in the sense that you gradually get new skills and powers, unlock new areas, and find new enemies. Barbarium is an indie action platformer that was developed by one person over the course of two years. And he did a great job, because it's a lot of fun to play even despite these limitations.

Dungeon Heroes is a first-person role game that follows in the footsteps of the 90s dungeon crawlers, where players could gather a group of adventurers and delve into the depths of a dungeon full of dangers. Even though you can only play four characters, you have nine to choose from. In Dungeon Heroes, combat goes in turns. The Kite is a point-and-click graphic adventure where you play Masha, a lady who lives in the suburbs of a generic Big City and has to face some very real problems now affecting certain parts of the population. When you start the adventure, Masha's main problem (and your problem, by extension), is that her son is hungry and there's absolutely nothing to eat in the kitchen. Unfortunately, this is not the only problem. Soon enough, you find out that Masha's husband is an alcoholic abuser who hits her. While he just drinks and watches TV when he gets home, your role is to take care of your little boy. Because of this story, The Kite is not an easy game to swallow. Many of the subjects addressed in this adventure will leave a sour taste in your mouth, but with some luck, it will also make some people think more about them. The Kite is a traditional graphic adventure that beneath its gray and dark graphics hides an even darker and sad story. Obviously this is not a game for everyone, but it still is a highly recommended title.

Hymn of the Sands is an 'action RPG' set in ancient Egypt where you will control the Egyptian god Osiris in his fight to recover his lost immortality from the forces of evil. The style of the game is pretty similar to titles like Torchlight or Diablo. In other words, you'll need to advance through a dungeon infested with traps and enemies, dodging the former and finishing off the latter. As you progress through the Egyptian catacombs, you'll discover new abilities that can be linked to different buttons on your mouse or gamepad. There's your normal attack, different attacks that form fireballs or steal lifeforce, and even special group attacks. One of Hymn of the Sands' most distinctive characteristics is that you can change between the realm of the living and the realm of the dead at any time. Like in Soul Reaper, you'll be able to alter reality with just the push of a button. Graphically, Hymn of the Sands is surprisingly good thanks to the Unreal Engine. Its character models, lighting effects, and textures are all quite impressive. Hymn of the Sands is a Diablo-style role-playing game with a lot of character. It has fun gameplay and excellent graphics.

It's still in an early phase of development, but it's available for several different platforms (Windows, Linux, and Mac). Explore all the settings and get items that help you throughout your adventure, such as gold, potions, weapons, etc. You can also talk with the people who live in the town, who give great tips. Go deep into the cave and fight with all types of creatures. Depending on the achievements you get, you can gain experience for Claudius and Laila, who are the two main characters in the story, at least for now. If you win combats, you'll also learn new skills, and increase your health points too.

Barbarians And The Necromancer's Tower is a 2D platform and action game where players control a barbarian who has to sword-fight his way through an evil necromancer's castle. The game is very similar to the first two titles from the Castlevania saga. In fact, the gameplay and graphics are almost identical. As you go through the castle, you'll find upgrades for making your sword bigger, or for getting other weapons like knifes and axes – that is, practically all the same objects you can find in the Castlevania games. Barbarians And The Necromancer's Tower is just as difficult as most other 8-bit games. Players have to be very smart to make it through the castle without letting the swarm of enemies that live there (skeletons, golems, bats, etc.) kill them. Barbarians And The Necromancer's Tower is a very fun platform and action game that fans of the Castlevania 8-bit games in particular will enjoy. A proper homage dedicated to veterans of this genre.

Bravada is a role playing game with touches of strategy, in which you must move through a number of grids, doing away with any baddies that get in your way and collecting as much treasure as you can. The adventure is led by a dwarf and his trusty bat, who together must move through a series of dungeons to collect all the treasure they find. Along the way they can also find new friends, level up, improve their attributes and acquire new ranks. Having been developed on grids, the action in Bravada sonn becomes very strategic. You have to place your characters in the most effective formations. For example, you should ideally have strong melee characters front, protecting the weak at the back. Graphically Bravada nothing special, but the colourful style makes the somewhat poorly designed scenery more forgivable. Furthermore, the general look of the game is actually quite nice. Bravada is an entertaining title that, although it seems designed more with touch control tablets in mind, works pretty well on a computer with a keyboard and a mouse.

The Mysterious Disappearance of Mr. Lovecraft is a third-person horror adventure where you can directly control the master of horror, H.P. Lovecraft. In this adventure, your character explores a maze made up of his own nightmares and fears. The gameplay in The Mysterious Disappearance of Mr. Lovecraft is simple: you just have to tap wherever you want to move your character. With a double tap, you can run. That said, your character doesn't exactly shine for his physical abilities, so you can only run for a short period of time. At a certain point in the adventure (practically at the beginning), you can find two special objects that let you play in first person and use a map. The object for playing the adventure in first person (a sort of floating eye) is incredibly useful to give you a better perspective of everything happening around you. The Mysterious Disappearance of Mr. Lovecraft is a 3D graphic adventure that's directly influenced by classics like Alone in the Dark. It's a game with an outstanding atmosphere and graphics that, while not especially great, look awesome thanks to an excellent use of illumination.

Along the way, you can collect different weapons and armor to help you survive until the end of the adventure. You can use different weapons like knives, swords, spears, and hammers. You can also equip yourself with shields and drink different potions, which can eventually save your life. You can also find food and use it to recover your health more quickly. Rogue's Eye is a fun and traditional first-person RPG. Both its graphics and gameplay make you feel like you've gone back in time to the early 90's, when RPGs were at their best.

Sapience is a first-person action RPG that shares a similar aesthetic with games from the early 90s such as Wolfenstein 3D and the legendary Blake Stone from Apogee Software. Unlike these titles, though, Sapience's playability falls somewhere between a first-person shooter and RPG. On one hand you'll have to face tons of enemies and beat them in a shootout, and on the other manage an inventory and a character index that will allow you to level up your attributes and gain experience. The adventure is set on a spaceship that, similar to what happens in Doom, becomes infested with alien demons whose main goal is to end the main character's life. Luckily, you'll have a special suit and an arsenal of weapons to stop them. Sapience is a very fun mix of RPG and action that will surely win over the nostalgics' hearts thanks to its marked retro aesthetic. And it just might end up convincing other players, too, with its more-than-competent mechanics.
